Ran today with no inhaler πŸ˜πŸŽ‰πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Well after 3 days of clearing the old floor, frequent trips to the dump, technical issues with the new floor... including 2 faulty pieces and unable to get a replacement box until mid December, then moving furniture back onto the half floor that was completed only to find that the feet had picked up bitumen (from under the ancient tiles we’d had to take up from under the old flooring) and that smeared across the lovely new flooring!!!!!!! That was a nightmare to clean off!!!! Then I spent that day cutting out circles of underlay and NoMoreNailsing them to the feet of all the furniture. Then today more issues with hall floor... I really needed to run to clear my head.

And also where I’ve had to pack up stuff from cupboard and bookcases I cannot find my inhalers ( since Sunday morning!!) but, strangely, I’ve not needed them and have been breathing really easily and deeply. So today I went off on my run without using one. I was a bit wary but as it was it was fine and I was actually faster than I have been lately. I only ran for just over 30 minutes but it was nice and easy running. Breathing was absolutely fine. It was a beautiful morning too.. bright and sunny... not too hot... no breeze today... ideal running weather. I ran alongside the river and across the town and barely saw another soul. Then I came home and after a couple of minutes walking my breath was back to normal.

I felt really great!!! I’m not going to count my chickens too much but maybe my chest has finally healed properly. 🀞I sure hope so!!! I’ll wait and see what it’s like when it’s frostier. But I’m hopeful.

And now my floor is just about complete so I am going to get my Christmas decorations down tomorrow and make a start.

Oh goodness limberlou what a challenging time you’ve had with that floor, I do sympathise. Hopefully by now your decorations are up and it’s all feeling so much better. Amazing you managed so well without your inhaler and I do hope the improvement continues. A lovely run too πŸ€—

I was hoping it would continue and I had nearly 3 weeks of being fine then a couple of mornings I woke and couldn’t breathe right to the bottom of my lungs and I’m back on the inhaler again. Funnily enough my Asthma nurse rang yesterday to check in on me and says the meds in the inhaler open up my airways and the steroids damp down the inflammation. It takes about 3 weeks then to work ( or to wear off) so sounds about right. She said I probably felt good as my body was still using the meds and then it wore off.

She says she’ll keep an eye on me with regular calls to check how I’m doing

Oh well , I can still run, when I’m not so busy decorating my house, my daughters house ( while she is at work) and everything else that’s going on 🀣🀣

Hi limberlou, I hope you’re not too disappointed. You are very busy so be good to yourself and enjoy your running when you can fit in. As you say it helps if we can be glad for what we can do, especially at the moment. Take good care πŸ€—
