Rheumy update for all that wanted one
Hey guys! Just an update on my second face to face today. This is a long one.. so apologies for the long read... but I have finally left an appointment feeling like I have been listened to and believed.. and I’m just over the moon.. even if the outcomes not exactly the most positive... So I had my

Who else was shocked!!
I'm new here but thought I would add me current experience with MBC. I was diagnosed with BC back in 2014, had a mastectomy and only had to take Letrozole for 5 years. I thought it was a fluke and thought nothing more about it. Well, low and behold it is back!! I thought I had pulled a muscle from

CT scan results
Hi all, I had a CTPA on 27th May and have just seen the results (or radiologists comments) - lung parenchyma generally of increased density, compatible with a semi-expiratory scan acquisition. Minor atelectasis in the lingula. No other significant lung leision or other pathology demonstrated. Normal

Post COVID jab DVT?
Hi, new to this. Question: anyone come across an occurrence of DVT after the first AZ COVID-19 jab. It happened to me about 10 days afterwards. Resulting in me being prescribed Rivaroxaban as the anticoagulant. Following my second jab about 10 weeks later I had problems with veins in my thigh. Ultrasound

Anyone Have Blood Clots Following Chemo?
I have just been diagnosed with nearly a foot-long blood clot in my right leg. An ultrasound indicates the clot's in a smaller vein near the surface of the skin, as opposed to a deep vein. But it is raising concern of my doctor as it's apparently close to a junction with a larger vein. It is extremely

Thrombophilia and covid vaccination
After a pulmonary embolism 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with thrombophilia. I am now taking Rivaroxaban 20mg. I live in Cyprus, where monitoring is minimal, so I can't refer to a specialist with any issues. My age group (50) is soon coming up as eligible for the covid vaccination, so I am starting

Pulmonary Hypertension
Has anyone else here been diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension? I have had two Right-heart Catheterizations. The first showed pressure of 60 and the second one showed pressure of 74. So obviously the disease is progressing. I would just like to talk with someone one else who has it so we can commiserate

5 months today
Hi All I can't believe I've reached 5 months smoke free today and I don't really think about smoking anymore. For those struggling I know how hard it is but you have to want to stop, for me my last chest infection was the last straw. I knew I had to stop and I am still trying to regain some lung capacity

Rivaroxaban or Apixaban
The clinical pharmacist at my GP practice gave me a choice between Rivaroxaban or Apixaban. I chose Rivaroxaban simply because you only have to take it once a day and I can take it with my other tablets at breakfast. I should add I have acid reflux which is well controlled if I don't eat anything silly

Pulmonary function test tomorrow...
It is a follow up after having pulmonary embolisms in December. The pulmonary function test I had just before I was admitted to the intensive care was 56% lung capacity. I am kind of nervous. Having a lot of trouble breathing lately, even while just getting dressed these days. I have no idea what it

Pulmonary function testing
Just curious, for those who have had pulmonary embolisms, did your pulmonologist send you for a pulmonary function test? I am going for one next month, and am not sure if he is testing for any complications with the PEs I had in December, or monitoring if my asthma is under control?

Any thoughts on having a bleeding peptic ulcer and APS and Lupus Anticoagulant
I have just had a bleeding peptic ulcer cauterised and clipped. The doctor says it’s stonking! He has taken me off warfarin because of the danger of bleeding out. I have not been offered any other anticoagulant options so scary time as he does not want me on warfarin for a week. Any thoughts on his thoughts

Thank you everyone for your repsonses, I am most grateful for your taking time to respond. It's almost a relief to know that I am not alone in finding water vapour in the bathroom, and the outdoors an issue. I am not sure whether that this is something that the medical profession are aware of, or even

Passive vaping: an impending threat to bystanders.
Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes), also known as vapes, are gaining popularity among youths in many parts of the world, including the US and Europe. These young vapers are often unaware their e-cigarettes contain nicotine, an addictive substance that is also present in tobacco cigarettes. Little

Piriformis Syndrome
Hi everyone I was diagnosed with PMR in March 2020, started on 15 mg. Reduced by 1mg each month, had to return to 10 mg in January 2021. Decreasing slowly and now down to 8.5mg. Towards the end of January Piriformis pain came back, I’d experienced the same thing in October 2020. Have been doing
