COPD and confused.
I have two doctors fighting over whether or not I actually have COPD. I had a lung function test that showed an FEV1 of 49 a few months ago. My FEV1/FVC ratio was really elevated. My FVC was also as low as my FEV1. I have been perplexed about this for a while, so I requested another test from my PCP

Lung Volume Reduction using Pulmonary Valves. (Revisited)
Back in November 2012, I wrote an article "Lung Volume Reduction using Pulmonary Valves. My experiences as a patient." The content of that post is still relevant, and may help some of the new members. So I decided to re-post it; Here it is:- Lung Volume Reduction using Pulmonary Valves. My experiences

Why can no doctor give me a straight answer and it seems like I am slowly feeling less physical. Depression?
I am currently a 22 year old white male turning 23 this upcoming Tuesday which I am excited for. My height is 70 inches and my weight is 164lbs currently. I am originally born on Long Island New York and lived there for 20 years of my life and just recently moved to Georgia 2 years ago. I landed a job

Warfarin to Rivaroxaban
Hi It's been a month or so since the results of the trial were published. Has anyone swapped yet and if so how are you getting on? For me Warfarin is working just fine but I'm really considering swapping over, mainly due to the frequent INR trips out of work and diet interactions. I'm just undecided

Starting Montelukast tonight
Collected my prescription from the pharmacy ,the pharmacist asked if I'd taken it before and I said no ,so he said take it an hour before bed ,any signs of allergic reaction to stop it immediately and phone the GP ,,,,,other than that he will ring me after seven days to see how I'm getting on with it

Lung Volume Reduction Valves
Good afternoon, everyone! I have not been around for about a year, I think, after been smacked on the wrist for two posts. I still disagree with the moderator but I've recently had five valves implanted in my right lung, lower part, to see if it improves my breathing - or improves the use that my lungs

newly diagnosed
I went to see a chest specialist who says I have mild to moderate ILD possibly due to Rhuematoid Arthritis or the Methotrexate I take for it. Methotrexate stopped now just on Humira . Pulmonary Function tests on lower edge of normal . He says see again in 4 months so don't know what happens next Thanks

Hi all, I'm new here. I was diagnosed with Hughes syndrome and pulmonary hypertension 2 years ago after almost a year in hospital and numerous operations to remove blood clots. One of my specialists recently spoke about changing me from Warfarin to Riveraxeban. As my INR has never been stable. My target

My health condition
I have a leg problem caused by heperapin and warfarin some 20 odd years ago. It took me eight years to learn how to walk again. Recently it seems I had a heart attack and DVT in my right leg. I immediately started using a thombosis stocking. I am on Tramadol for back pain. Caused by the leg problem.

Lung volume reduction surgery - creating a new policy
Hi guys, NHS England is forming a working group to develop a new policy for Lung Volume Reduction. On the working group there’ll be clinical experts and patient organisations but they’d also like someone who has experienced this surgery themselves. If you’ve had surgical lung volume reduction, or

Weekend Wit - Cooperisms part 2
Hope you all have a good weekend :) Part Two You see I'm against hunting, in fact I'm a hunt saboteur. I go out the night before and shoot the fox. The other day I sent my girlfriend a huge pile of snow. I rang her up, I said "Do you get my drift?". So I went down the local supermarket, I said "
