Lung volume reduction surgery - creating a new policy

Hi guys,

NHS England is forming a working group to develop a new policy for Lung Volume Reduction. On the working group there’ll be clinical experts and patient organisations but they’d also like someone who has experienced this surgery themselves.

If you’ve had surgical lung volume reduction, or if you’ve had treatment with endobronchial valves for emphysema, then you might be able to join this group and help shape the new policy.

The working group will run for around six to twelve months. They’ll probably have up to 5 meetings (most likely by teleconference) with some email discussions in between.

If you’re interested in getting involved or if you want more information then please let me know and I will pass your contact details and questions on to NHS England. It may take them a week or so to respond as the person running this is on leave at the moment but they would love to hear from you.

My email address, if you want to reach me directly, is bethany.bateman@blf.org.uk

Thanks all!

Bethany
