I'm new here. Hi.
Hi all. I do have a question but wanted to introduce myself first and tell you my story. I fell pregnant in Sep 98 and was diagnosed with breast cancer in Oct 98. Had the lump removed in Dec 98 and my baby was induced in June 99. 3 months of chemo and 10 weeks of radiotherapy later started to enjoy

New here, but worried
Hi recently diagnosed with DVT, GP is not doing tests for cancer as suspects it was my HRT. I do not feel happy about him just assuming it is this, especially as have just read that 1 in 10 new DVT's is due to a cancer which you do not realise you have. Has anyone here with a DVT had the tests and

Should I take my anticoagulant?
Just got back from hospital after an emergency visit for an acute infection in my tear duct (lump the size of a golf ball). I have to go back tomorrow to get it drained, which will involve a small incision under local anaesthetic. I am already on antibiotics. FIrst saw a junior doctor whose treatment

Hello - I am fairly new to COPD, but I suspect I've had it for a few years at least. I see a pumonologist and an allergy doctor. The allergist has me on Singulair and Flonase nasal spray. (He does not know I have COPD yet, but I will see him again in April - in time for my brutal Spring allergies.

Last but best It could only happen Yorkshire
Saved what I think is the funniest till today. I have a disturbing feeling I won't be laughing at the end of the Wales England game. Hello. I'm new here.
I found this site by chance. I read many posts. Very helpful. Thank you. I have been diagnosed with COPD about 2 years ago and can't really come to terms with it. I keep reading. Bit shy on posting.

Confused
Would being sick and having a sinus infection affect results if a pulmonary function test? I have suffered from asthma since childhood which has been poorly managed with no medications for a very long time and never increasing them once I was out on them. I had my first test last week as for 2 years

New to COPD
I have a few questions I'm hoping someone can help me with? 1) At what stage you were referred out to a pulmonoligist? 2) Does anyone else have a ulcer with this? I'm not sure if it's normal or not? 3) can you feel this in your lungs or is it just a feeling of breathlessness? 4) did you ever have swelling

INR Testing and local protocols
Having moved from the south coast up to Hull the protocols here are so different it would be interesting to hear what protocols are in place in different places in the UK. Here in Hull its a nurse led clinic using a coagucheck and dosing etc is done there and then. When I first moved and said INR needs

N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC)
This page goes into how NAC can be a game-changer for those with COPD. http://www.lifeextension.com/Magazine/2010/5/N-Acetyl-Cysteine/Page-02 I just started it myself and I feel it is making a difference. Hoping to see still more improvement as I continue. I take it along with vitamin C and MSM. All

Thoughts about Xarelto and APS
I was put on to Xarelto in Hospital after an unprovoked jugular vein DVT. Initially treated with heparin. As it turned out I eventually tested positive twice to the drvvt test so APS confirmed. At the same time diagnosed with SLE due to other issues My thoughts are that warfarin treats other symptoms

A bit worried.
Good evening everybody, patricia7 here, I just wanted to let you all know what has been going on. I filled out a form for ESA at the same time I had to fill in a new claim for PIP, sent that off on Monday; a bit worried about that, they say it can take 16 weeks to make a decision. I have had a bad
