Do I need another test PTH? Or did they do that? Or it it cut and dried now with high callcium it deffo needs sorting. Im late 40s, overweight so bit concerned that I need to get it sorted if thats it. For instance, how long will I have to wait in the uk for an operation?

Serum total 25-hydroxy vitamin D level 70.0 nmol/L Musculoskeletal symptoms or fatigue are unlikely to be due to a vitamin D <30 nmol/L if calcium, alkaline phosphatase and PTH are normal. Such symptoms would NOT be expected at vitamin D levels >30 nmol/L.

GP said the protocol from here with low Vit D would be to test my PTH levels. I just wondered if it was advisable to test calcium at the same time and whether anyone else has been tested for this based on their results? Thanks Shibbs

He also told me to chase up hospital if I don't hear from them about parathyroid scan as my PTH levels are high and have been climbing for the past 4 years. So because of that he is also sending me for a full body BMD test to see what stage the damage to my bones is at.

This has also resulted in my pth being above normal range at 8.3pmol (upper ref is 6.4) though calcium is mid range. I discussed t3 with the endo but he isn't willing to prescribe as there is no reliable option with steady time release so you get a big hit then nothing.

OK so I've taken the plunge and sourced some t3. For those who have seen previous posts I am convinced I have a conversion problem. Brief history... partial thyroidectomy 10 yrs ago. Put straight on levo. Put on weight gradually then about 4 stone when pregnant and have never managed to lose. T3

Diagnosed with high calcium and normal pth According to doc normal PTH precludes me from Parathyroidectomy My research shows even with normal PtH the op still benefits MOST PEOPLE I have many of the symptoms back stomach kidney pain fatigue and itching.Also calcium on pancreatitis Any help no matter

How can I fight the fatigue that goes with this I have high calcium and normal pth so doc will not operate.I also understand that the ectomy operation can relieve stomach ,back and kidney pain associated with it Due to see an endo. doc privately .What should I ask him ?

Vit d is 27 pth is 67.4 and calcium was 9.3. My last test after increasing vit D was vit D 30, pth 51 and calcium 10. Urine calcium 24 hour was high. I did another 24 hour urine calcium finally last week with a low calcium diet but I don't have the results yet.

Parathyroid hormone [PTH] is secreted. PTH triggers a rapid response whereby calcium is obtained from bone (resorption). PTH also triggers the production of hormonal vitamin D - i.e. calcidiol is converted to calcitriol by the kidneys.

PTH 89.3 (14-72) HIGH calcium 6.7 (8.3-10.6) Iron saturation 16 (20-60) LOW ..Iron 42 (55-170) LOW... Iron binding 269 normal vit D 32.1 (30-100)  Thyroglobulin 1.6 should be zero with total thyroidectomy. 

Here are my results: Vitamin D: 20.3 (low) TSH -3.81 PTH -7.1 Free T3 -4.4 Free T4 -16 (it states this has been corrected by the move from 175mg on weekdays and 200mg on weekends to 200mg every day) calcium -2.59 Any help would be very much appriciated  :)

I also had high pth and low vitamin d with high normal calcium on my last blood test. The latest doc I saw for Osteoporosis did a new blood panel but I don't have the results yet.

Results were PTH 1.37, FT4 4.8, TSH 1.52. The past week I've had headaches, a general fuzzy feeling in my head, now I have tingling in soles of my feet. In hospital they said to see my doc if I had the tingling but is there any point? Is it something to worry about?
