Dietary calcium intake and rate of bone loss in men.
Dietary Ca intake was inversely correlated with
PTH
at baseline (r -0·19, P=0·02), but was not associated with the markers of bone turnover. BMD and rates of bone loss were unrelated to Ca intake in these men.

Patient access & Parathyroid Hormone low?
Hi all, I have just got patient access to my records from the GP, but the only records I can see are blood tests and a summary of visits which only go back to 2007. However, I am somewhat perturbed about some of my blood test results. My calcium levels have been consistently below the range since 2007

Blood Results
Hi, Sorry it's taken so long to post my results but I have been quite poorly again with ulcerative colitis/diverticula problems. There don't appear to be any for FT3 & FT4, & I'm not sure about the VitB12 & Ferritin, but I don't really know what any of them mean. Total white blood count

CLL & possible hyperparathyroidism
I've been happily (more or less) living with CLL since being diagnosed in 2005 just before my 36th birthday. I've been on watch and wait ever since, with no real movement in my WBC or platelet counts. My only symptoms are slightly enlarged lymph nodes in my neck - which haven't budged in size since

Hyperparathyroidism in PCa.
There are 4 parathyroid glands in the neck (near the thyroid) & they secrete parathyroidism hormone [
PTH
] in response to a drop in circulating calcium. The kidneys respond to
PTH
by converting calcidiol (25-D) to calcitriol (1,25-D) - i.e. creating hormonal vitamin D.

Help understanding my thyroid test results.
The last year year has been unbearable for me. I am constantly exhausted, no concentration, feeling detached, no sex drive, thinnning hair etc. the list goes on. I also constantly need to go to the toilet to urinate. I suspected a thyroid or a possible parathyroid problem and I just had by bloods

Do I have Hypoparathyroidism?
My
PTH
is 0.9 and my Vit D is 50, the receptionist said the lab indicated these were both low. I feel quite poorly, very tired, I can concentrate and I seem to lose my way when having conversations with people, silly things like forgetting words or what I was talking about.
