Switching bipolar meds after decade
I'd gotten so good at managing my moods with meds and meditation, but after tardive dyskinesia set in I've have to start from scratch. Now I'm depressed most of the day and locked in my private world. Unwilling to let friends know even though I'm communicating with them about other things. It's all so

My whole family mom dad older brother all passed away by the time I was 40. Just bad luck. Now my wife who I loved so much

Thank you for being here for me!
I’m still trying to wrap my head around my current situation, so please forgive me if I’ll repeat what was discussed in my previous posts. Just to reiterate: in September my 6-month PET scan showed stable disease. 10 days later, the routine spine MRI indicated new spinal cord edema from T3-T4 to T9

My fault ?
I told those closest to me that I was going to be treated for depression and had an appointment with a therapist tomorrow. He said it was my fault for not going out and looking at 4 walls every day that’s what made me depressed. I said no it wasn’t my fault. Maybe I should not have said anything.

Sore knees
Has anyone got any advice on what to do with sore knees. I had to stop shuffling at the end of August because my tight knee was painful. I'm desperate to get back out again, I feel like a slug and at 66 I'm worried I'll never run again. I've seen a physio, who said it's probably arthritis, gave me a

Hello everyone, I want to start by saying I’ve had some beautiful days the past couple of months. I found a great therapist, psychiatrist, changed my regular physician and started taking fluvoxamine to treat my OCD as I was preparing for ERP. Everyone who told me to take meds was 100% right. It took

Functional Neurological Disorder!
I just wanted to let everyone know of a problem with private doctors and neurologists. There is a continuing lack of education among these professionals who will happily label neurological symptoms of PA, even with evidence of PA present, as psychological by using the friendly name of Functional Neurological

Career in mental health
Hello! I went through psychosis last year and I’m potentially thinking to go down a career in mental health (one day). I’m just wondering if you could think of any careers that are specific to working with mother and baby/ families? A mother and baby psychotherapist or family therapist perhaps. Do you

Still new here but thought I’d let out one of my biggest fears (because I feel comfortable now)
I’m not particularly looking for any reassurance and this is something I’m currently working on with my therapist but I’m really glad to find a place where I feel no judgement or invalidation to say what OCD thoughts are causing suffering (even if it is a “strange” one hehe). From a toxic friendship

Birthday ruins entire month
Hi everyone. This is my first post here. I am in my late 40s and have hated my birthday since around age 12 or 13. But that feeling has gotten even more intense over the years. Getting older is only a very small part of the problem. I can't really think of one particular sad or traumatic experience

Can anyone recommend PCPs, therapists, neuropsychs, coaches in the Austin, TX area who are hospitable to diagnosing/treating adult ADHD?
Hi, all. Thanks for this forum. I’ve been on a year-long journey of self-discovery after my sister and nephew were diagnosed with ADHD. Like many, I thought ADHD meant bouncy elementary school boys. When I finally stumbled on a list of adult female inattentive/combined-type symptoms, I broke down and

disturbing sexual intrusive thoughts
I know that sexual intrusive thoughts are actually quite common especially among people who have OCD. I have had them in the past before my thoughts and OCD started to have a bigger impact on my life, and now three weeks into being diagnosed with OCD and finding a new therapist I feel like I have made

Massage Therapy
This has been such a beautiful experience for Mom. She is so relaxed … hands, arms, shoulders, legs, and her most favorite is her scalp. In-home therapist is just what she needed.
