disturbing sexual intrusive thoughts

I know that sexual intrusive thoughts are actually quite common especially among people who have OCD. I have had them in the past before my thoughts and OCD started to have a bigger impact on my life, and now three weeks into being diagnosed with OCD and finding a new therapist I feel like I have made a solid start to my recovery. Though i still get tripped up by intrusive thoughts here and there and one major one for me is that I fear that im attracted to family members and sometimes will have disturbing sexual images pop up. It usually happens when I buy into the thought and am under high stress/anxiety. For example: I had a relapse involving happen and came home to be in comfort with my family as I started healing, When im scared or having bad anxiety I usually watch movies with my mom and lay next to her. I had a bunch of anxious "what if" thoughts here and there the first couple days being home and one of them involved a sexual thought, it struck me and lead to highly anxious sexual thoughts and images involving my mom. For multiple days I was terrified "oh my god what if im attracted to my own mom I dont get it this will ruin my life i dont want this at all!" trying to seek reassurance that those thoughts werent my true feelings, the more reassurance i looked for the worse the thoughts would get. It's been a couple weeks learning more and accepting that OCD can cause this kind of confusion but I would like to hear if anyone has struggled with anything similar.

Hello. Yes I’ve had similar thoughts over the years. They are horrible and very disturbing but I now realise they are irrational ocd thoughts. You are not these thoughts. You are a good person and need to show yourself compassion.

No, you are not alone. I have had similar themes and it sucks the joy out of being around people you love because you're terrified of what may go through your head. I'm sorry you are going through this, please remember that the stuff in your mind doesn't change what's in your heart. I hope you find peace.
