Well, I have been on the medication long enough to make an assessment. It has definitely made a big difference on my energy level. I take it with my other morning meds and it wears off by the time I am wrapping up my day. I’m happy to report that it has not affected my sleep pattern at all, but my energy

Also, I am trying to get Provigil approved through my insurance. (Medicare) Has anyone else been approved for it by Medicare? Thanks in advance for your help. Love to all, Kelly

Modafinil has other names like provigil and modalert. Modalert is what I have used. My story ... I am generally healthy. 18 months into underactive autoimmune thyroid, also gluten intolerant. About 9 years ago, I was tired at times and hugely busy with work.

My physical therapist, who works with a lot of people with MS, suggested Ampyra for motor fatigue and Provigil for the feeing of fatigue. Has anyone been on these meds, one or both? Have they helped with being more active?

Without hesitation, he offered to have me try Provigil. I had never heard of it, but he told me its safe to try.

Additionally, several small trials have found an increase in energy with the use of stimulants such as methylphenidate (Ritalin), dexmethylphenidate (Focalin) and modafinil (Provigil).

I am hoping to hear from people who have taken modafanil (Provigil) or armodafanil (Artvigil) for profound daytime sleepiness and fatigue associated with RLS.

What about some kind of stimulant (for instance, Provigil), to at least keep him awake during the day and get him to be more energetic? 4. I really want my father to start taking anti-depressants, but the problem is that he won't admit he is depressed.

Greetings to All! I'm wondering how many of us diagnosed with MS were put on the above medication. If you are on it or have been on it, what is your opinion of it's effects?

I AM FORCED TO A COMMUNITY RESOURCE LPN WHO WILL NOT PRESCRIBE VYVANSE AND PROVIGIL. I TAKE BOTH. EVEN THOUGH I AM HUMILIATED BY DRUG TESTS EVERY MONTH! MY QUALITY OF LIFE IS DETERIORATING. SHOULD HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED AS KID BUT ONE OF 11 CHILDREN. LITTLE MEDICAL CARE.

I've tried Vyvanse, Ritalin, Focalin, Adderall , Provigil, anti depressants, and combos. None have provided substantial benefits. Anyone? About to start Effexor.

I have tried almost all the antidepressants, recently my doc added stimulants (provigil), but it made me too low during evenings. I also feel sleepy all day, have no energy, backaches, and i procrastinate work. This adds up to my frustration and depression.

Has anyone taken Modafinil or Provigil for fatigue? And if so did it help or is there any side effects? Thanks for the info. Karen

I’m taking Provigil for the fatigue. I’m taking it off label. It’s helping some but not as much as I would like. I don’t think I’ve been on HDT long enough to help the fatigue. I use a walker. I think my walking has improved also. The brain fog has definitely cleared some.

My sleep doctor is a neurologist and to get a refill on my provigil I had to come in for an exam and my eyes weren't tracking right so I was sent for an MRI.

My Neuro also is going to start me on Provigil, my insurance does not want to approve it thus far. My doctor said he would deal with them so i'm awaiting approval at this time. Hopefully it will help with my lack of energy.

I started to take Modafinil "Provigil" 100mg every morning because I could not stay awake and had little energy most days. To my surprise, my RLS was gone without using any other medicine. Not a recommendation just a pleasant surprise.

I was finally (after my Doctor appealed the denial by my insurance) approved for Modafinil(PROVIGIL) yesterday. 200mg tablets. I took half a tablet after waking up and the other half before noon, per my Drs instructions. I did more before 1pm than I had done in the last week! I love to clean!
