Modafanil experiences?

Hi all. I am hoping to hear from people who have taken modafanil (Provigil) or armodafanil (Artvigil) for profound daytime sleepiness and fatigue associated with RLS. I am at the end of my options for RLS having taken pretty much everything except dipyridamole with limited success and I continue to detriorate into a world of constant tiredness and nonfunctionality flavored with anxiety and suicidal ideation. Many/most days I cannot function to do the things I need to do without taking some armodafanil--my "wake-up pill". It does wake me up, for varying lengths of time. sometimes the result is wonderful and I feel sharp and clear headed and "like myself" for hours, happy and creative. Other times it just feels like I am flogging a dead horse. sometimes it allows me to function but I get edgy and agitated and have to take a little dose of lorazepam to calm down.

Does anyone take one or the other of these medicines regularly or daily and for how long? what are your experiences with it? What doses do you take? Is there any habituation and withdrawal if you stop taking it?

Thanks!

Paul
