Does Hypothyroidism trigger autoimmune disease?
I was listening to a podcast, which covers immunity/autoimmunity. According to the doctor, women can sometimes produce more prolactin, which puts a stress on the body, increasing likelihood of developing autoimmune disease. Hypothyroidism stimulates the production of prolactin, and so causes autoimmune

Pharmacological causes of hyperprolactinemia
If prolactin is related to castration resistant cancer, there is a large list of meds which have the potential to increase prolactin. Many of us are probably taken one or more. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2376090/

Testosterone, prolactin, and oncogenic regulation of the prostate gland. A new concept:
"Testosterone-independent malignancy is the development of prolactin-dependent malignancy!" "Consequently, both testosterone ablation and prolactin ablation are required to prevent and/or abort terminal hormonedependent prostate cancer." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30093983

Local prolactin is a target to prevent expansion of basal/stem cells in prostate tumors.
They were suspecting prolactin as a cancer promoter (secondary fuel source) 10 + years ago " we show that Delta1-9-G129R-hPRL, a competitive PRL-receptor antagonist, prevented early stages of prostate tumorogenesis by reducing or inhibiting Stat5 activation, cell proliferation, abnormal basal-cell

Prolactin & Cabergoline.
New study blow [1]. Some who have read my zinc posts might remember Costello & Franklin. They seem to have been at it for ever (the first of 109 joint papers was in 1977). Their focus has been citrate & zinc in the prostate. Anyway, here is an anecdotal case of a man with CRPC who: "was treated with

An Answer I Didn't Want - PVFS - Final Diagnosis?
It's been quite a while since I've been active here, and my health has been up and down. But for the sake of the community, I figured I should share what I've learned. My hypothyroidism appears to be both primary and secondary, TPO-Ab borderline but definitely positive, yet fluctuating function not explained

High prolactin
Have been on bromocriptine for like two months and after my last period on 21 may, to 25th, I started taken vit. C & E with the above drugs. Also I notice the breast milk has reduced very well when I press my nipple. Want to know if I have a chance of getting pregnant since the high prolactin is reducing

Some words I’d encouragement please?
I’ve recently found out that I have high prolactin, a narrow cervix (no wonder the hycosy scan hurt so much!) and potentially something wrong with my thyroid. Is there any hope of me ever falling pregnant? The fertility clinic said I had unexplained fertility but then this has all shown up!!

Help interpreting blood/saliva cortisol results and symptoms?
Good afternoon, So for many years I've suffered a myriad of symptoms, I've always put them down to something else but in the last few months had had to take them more seriously and hence ordered tests via medichecks to try to either get reassurance nothing is wrong or get some evidence that a GP will

Prolactin
Hey, had to have my prolactin test done again and the results were not too great. Something about it being at 1016, so been referred to specialist so that. Just wondered if anyone else has suffered from very high levels as I am not pregnant or breastfeeding so would this have an impact on fertility?

Does cabergoline affect egg quantity?
I am currently on cabergoline to lower my prolactin and started stims today. However I am wondering if it will affect the amount of eggs I will produce as it's usually used to prevent OHSS. Anyone knows?
