Take a Ticcer Out
Here’s a quick guide for statues (people without TS) to help them when making decisions about evenings out with a ticcer. I should have done this earlier but like a lot of my good ideas I have them too late, like the sadly cancelled Christmas Dinner in Birmingham. Choosing an activity This is quite

Measuring Tourette's
Measurement is important because hard numbers can prove things that vague impressions cannot. Measuring the severity of TS is notoriously difficult for a variety of reasons. Alcohol and TS medications - What's the effect?
Can I drink alcohol with all the medication I take, i.e. risperidone, concerta, clonidine? What effects will it have? Could it make me ill – the interaction of medication and alcohol? Question from Tourettes Action's Research Conference 'Understanding TS' 30 Nov 2010

Trouble for Trumpets
I’m feeling quite tired as I often do after a day in London. In the morning I attended a policy group meeting at the Neurological Alliance (an umbrella that campaigns for a number of charities for people with neurological conditions, Tourette’s Action is a member). Aliens Ate My Buick
I haven’t really had my Buick eaten by aliens, so I have to take the train instead. I never had a Buick in the first place and this little chap on the train is way too nice to go around eating peoples cars. All this travelling on public transport reminds me that I should really get a wiggle on and do

ADHD diagnosis
Since watching a TV programme a couple of years ago I have suspected that I too have ADHD. NOSI Mosey
For me at the moment one of the most distressing parts of my TS is my NOSI, that’s Non-Obscene Socially Inappropriate, that’s me shouting the most ridiculously, childish insults that anyone could ever dream up, usually I’d prefer to insult people in a more intelligent way. Having NOSI is like being constantly

Why I now hate Cineworld
I like to go to the Cinema. It is something I do every two weeks as per my timetable. I enjoy watching films a lot. Now it seems I am no longer allowed to do this. On the 30th December (yes, it has taken me this long to stop FUMING!!!) I decided to go and watch Gulliver's travels at the Milton Keynes

But I only wanted a referral!
I got the letter today. I have to wait another 2 months before I see a neurologist at Addenbrookes. Frankly, I am pretty sure at this rate, without medication, that I will be either seriously injured or killed in the next two months because my tics are getting that bad that they are physically harming

No gerbils. Lots of screaming.
So I got an answer today. There are no indoor pets allowed apart from goldfish. While that is great news for Mr. Fry (my gender confused goldfish), it is not such great news for the gerbil I planned to adopt. I'm not too upset though because I can now save up for Mr. Fry's new aquarium and friend (he's

Piggies
Recently I’ve re-acquired some tics, I find these vocal tics more distressing than coprolalia, maybe it’s because coprolalia is more stereotyped to almost continuously swallow your own saliva and make awful snotty, grunting sounds is just horrible, can you just imagine it getting close and personal with

Hanging on the Telephone
I’m in quite good spirits today, I think the new meds are perhaps now having an effect on me, also I have taken my own advice and got myself a Wii Fit from Cash Generators (I couldn’t afford a new one). I thought I might share this little incident with you, some might get a bit uptight about it and have

J'ai ne suis pas misérables!
Last night was one of the greatest nights of my life. I have been VERY depressed recently but we went to see Les Misérables at the Queen's theatre in London. This was only the second time I had been to the old smoke for theatre... well third if you count the time we had to go back to Chitty Chitty Bang

Dear Mark
I think in my encroaching old age I’m beginning to turn into a bit of a Daily (Hate) Mail reader, I might have done this before but I can’t remember off the top of my head – I’m about to write to a journalist in response to an article that I’ve read. So here goes. Dear Mark, As I was sitting in Euston
