May I ask you to remain is silence for a moment? Please listen ...
Can you hear it? Can't you?
Try again.
Pay more attention ... Do you hear it now?
Tic...... Tac........ Tic....... Tac.....
It's the sound of time passing by.
But listen now:
Tic Tac Tic Tac Tic Tac Tic Tac
It's the same sound, but the way is perceived from people with Parkinson
Tic Tac Tic Tac Tic Tac Tic Tac
Can you tell the difference?
Our clock has suddenly accelerated since the time of diagnosis of the disease.
Tic Tac Tic Tac Tic Tac Tic Tac
It had been months, even years, since we first noticed that something was wrong, that our ship has entered into stormy weather.
Than suddenly the diagnosis came like a thunderbolt.
A lightning that strikes and broke in two the master tree in the ship of our lives.
And behind a beam so strong always comes a thunder; a long, powerful, deafening thunder, confusing our ideas, feeding our fears.
Then you start the medication .... and the sun returns to dispel the clouds and gives way to a spring of hope, followed by a warm summer of holiday ... to forget about Parkinson's.
But again a tricky tremor, an unexpected fall, like a storm in August, announced the end of the holiday and pave the way to a fall of changes.
There will be (decreasing) sunny days and (increasing) rainy days.
Sooner or later, the cold takeover and opens a long winter season.
Winter.
This time there won't be a new spring to come and rescue us from its cold grip.
Tic Tac Tic Tac Tic Tac Tic Tac
Do you understand our urgency now?
Living every moment with the feeling of watching your days slipping away while nobody stops the countdown.
Do you understand now because we can't wait one more day to find a cure for Parkinson's disease?
