There is a Light That Never Goes Out
Really I should be going to bed, but I have no inclination to sleep whatsoever, my body is slightly tired but my mind is still in overdrive. It has been for a couple of days now after been very low and delicate. Actually my hearing has taken on new superpowers today. At this very moment I’m listening

So you think you’re Funny?
This is a message to all those poor, poor people that find themselves on the internet, mainly Youtube and Facebook following the rest of the crowd and thinking that your “well funny” well, sadly you’re not, you won’t see me laughing, you won’t see any of my friends laughing either, that’s because at

Measuring Tourette's
Measurement is important because hard numbers can prove things that vague impressions cannot. Measuring the severity of TS is notoriously difficult for a variety of reasons. More labels than a label maker
It's been over a month since I lost Jenifer. Every day is a struggle because I have become very depressed. The stress also induced a nasty case of IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) which was diagnosed by a GP last week. I have had it for years I believe but this is the first time I have had a name for it

Not Going Out? Stay in and Watch Television.
Whilst our American cousins are in the middle of TS Awareness month, us Brits have something else to look forward to. Yep, you’ve guessed, quite the opposite of awareness and education, we get THAT sitcom with THAT episode AGAIN! Yet again a rather dated, so-called comedic view of disability and in particular

Take a Ticcer Out
Here’s a quick guide for statues (people without TS) to help them when making decisions about evenings out with a ticcer. I should have done this earlier but like a lot of my good ideas I have them too late, like the sadly cancelled Christmas Dinner in Birmingham. Choosing an activity This is quite

Alcohol and TS medications - What's the effect?
Can I drink alcohol with all the medication I take, i.e. risperidone, concerta, clonidine? What effects will it have? Could it make me ill – the interaction of medication and alcohol? Question from Tourettes Action's Research Conference 'Understanding TS' 30 Nov 2010

Trouble for Trumpets
I’m feeling quite tired as I often do after a day in London. Aliens Ate My Buick
I haven’t really had my Buick eaten by aliens, so I have to take the train instead. I never had a Buick in the first place and this little chap on the train is way too nice to go around eating peoples cars. All this travelling on public transport reminds me that I should really get a wiggle on and do

ADHD diagnosis
Since watching a TV programme a couple of years ago I have suspected that I too have ADHD. NOSI Mosey
For me at the moment one of the most distressing parts of my TS is my NOSI, that’s Non-Obscene Socially Inappropriate, that’s me shouting the most ridiculously, childish insults that anyone could ever dream up, usually I’d prefer to insult people in a more intelligent way. Having NOSI is like being constantly
