A positive move
I saw a rheumatologist yesterday and thanks to all the information gained from this site I am now taking prednisolone. I wanted a two week trial and he wanted a blood test showing positive markers first but I pointed out that many people don’t have that. He mentioned RA but I showed him that none of

Magnesium supplement - how much per day?
Until a few days ago I was taking soluble Magnellon 300 mg each day in the early evening, after food. I've been doing this since PMR diagnosis in August 2020. For the last 3 months or so I've been experiencing 'flutterings' in my legs and feet when I'm relaxing and in bed at night. Having read

Leflunomide update
Both ESR and CRP are climbing fast (31 and 24.1) I have been in pain and increased from 5.5 to 7 then to 8 mg
Prednisone
but now I will go to 10 to try and feel normal again. While on leflunomide I was totally pain free and reducing pred successfully for a year.

Diet and GCA
I have recently found this wonderful forum, it's so full of information I wish I had seen it before. I thought I would post this in case it is interesting to anyone. I was diagnosed with GCA just a year ago this weekend. I was nearly 77 when I suddenly became exhausted and overwhelmed with fatigue.

Prednisolone vs Co-codamol 30/500
I’m long term PMR, down to 6mg pred and this will be my dose for life. I still ache every day and take normally two Co-codamol 30/500 first thing in morning and at 1800 hrs. I am due à medicine review by my surgery pharmacist and I am pretty sure they want me to cut down or stop the Co-codamol. My

burning sensation in lungs post asthma flair?
It's not too bad during the day, but it's just annoying enough that it kept me awake most of last night :( So between the asthma flair and some
prednisone
insomnia, I'm really hurting on the lack of sleep department at this point...

looking for a second opinion
Good morning , Just over one year in starting at 15mg and now on 5mg , which I guess is a fairly quick taper ? Have had good attention from GP and 3 visits to my Consultant and 2 phone conversations with him . So can’t grumble about the appointments and access to medics . However my Consultant

Weaning aches vs flare up pain?
How can you tell the difference between
prednisone
weaning aches and pains versus an impending flare up of pmr inflammation? I don’t want to trigger a full blown relapse.

PMR sudden horrific pain
My markers came back high 83 on the CRP - so put on
prednisone
(15 mg.) that day. In two days, my pain was reduced by 70% and continued until I met with my Rheumatologist, who increased me to 20 mgs.

Father’s MO now recommending adding Zytiga
His recent appointment earlier this month though MO wants him to start Zytiga and continue on Lupron with
prednisone
for another two years. He said the recommendations have changed given recent studies showing Zytiga with ADT is beneficial for men with high grade localized cancer.

on vacation from Zytiga; getting arthritis in hands
I was on Zytiga and
prednisone
for 2 1/2 years, with undetectable PSA during that time, down from a high of only four. I’ve been on a Zytiga holiday, for 10 months now. My hot flashes have been decreasing and my strength and endurance and libido have been coming back gradually.
