Asthma without infection
Brief history. Moved north to West Yorkshire in 1974 (aged 29). Started with beathing difficulties. Had allergy tests and a course of desensitisation injections, which worked, but whenever I caught a cold, it morphed into a sore throat and chest infection leading to gasping for breath. Major attack

Progression of SCLE to SLE
Hello, I've had SCLE for many years now and I have several over autoimmune issues. I was sort of just putting up with it until about a

Thinking of our conversation on pred level and how to handle stressful moments to keep adrenal drama at bay....
I have developed a lot of the side.effects of
prednisone
. It is hard to look in the mirror, I have gained a lot of weight and am trying low carb but...I also am carrying a lot of fluid. And now they thi k I have venous stasis in my legs...which are a mess.

Time of absorption for gastro-resistant prednisolone???
Just gone to get mum’s next box 2.5mg & she has been given gastro-resistant tablets 🤷♀️🤷♀️ Must have been a bad day at pharmacy as they had also written the wrong dose on the box!! I will order some more asap, but how long do these take to get into the system? She’s on a split dose due to adrenals

Rituximab Reaction
Unfortunately I react really severely to
prednisone
in the long term and azathioprine too. I feel a bit overwhelmed by it all today and a bit anxious about how they'll now treat my IgG4 disease. Sorry for the waffly message. I just needed to get it out.

prednisolone withdrawal.
I posted earlier but not sure if it’s been seen. I went down from 7.5mg yesterday to 7mg ( every four weeks) by pm i developed tenderness on head. I have been fine, bloods done last Wednesday all normal range. I’m not sure as I’ve seen before that if it’s withdrawal it’s quite quick to get effects and

prednisolone withdrawal
Hi I dropped from 7.5mg to 7 yesterday and by late afternoon tender area on scalp started. I know that it’s been said before that if this happens straight away it’s usually down to withdrawal and if it’s days later a flare. I can’t lay on that side, paracetamol hasn’t done anything and I’m awake at silly

Interesting info
However, no study has yet compared the benefits and risks of low-dose GCs (≤7.5 mg
prednisone
equivalent per day)75 without DMARDs against DMARDs without GCs." Just proves what many have been saying here...

On slow drop but having back pain again. Pred withdrawal or DOMS.
Started on prednisolone in March 2019 and pmr was managed well, apart from needing to go up a little after vaccinations. The bi valent covid booster in Oct '22 when down to 6.5mg or so kicked my immune system it seems, so had to go back to starter dose of 15mg unfortunately. See previous posts.Using

Anyone else on Pred. plus Sulfasalazine?
I've noticed that others are also on Methotrexate or Leflunomide along with their daily dose of
prednisone
. My dr. tried both of those at various times but I had unwelcome side effects from each.

Does anyone take pantoprazole with MtX?
During this weekend I have had a bad pain in my esophagus. I get that from time to time, probably due reflux caused by the prednisolone and PMR, as it is worse during a flare. I usually take pantoprazole a couple of days and it heals up fast (doctor's prescription). However - now I am on MtX since
