update on statins, Leflunomide & biphosphates
this is a good news story of me ready to charge at doors which gently and easily opened! Over the last 3 weeks I have spoken to and seen three medics who I expected to push me into drugs I didn’t want. Medic 1 - my GP who discussed statins, agreed my cholesterol was borderline and that statins were

Tapering
Just a quick question about tapering Prednisolone. I have had GCA since Aug 22. Have tapered down to 5mg but had the beginnings of a flare. My rheumatologist told me to go up to 7.5mg. The flare abated. I then got an infection/virus and on the advice of the rheumatology nurses increased to 10mg for a

Rituximab and hair loss
Hello, I've just had my first two doses of Rituximab in February, and I've been noticing more hair loss when I wash my hair. Has anyone had this, and do you have any remedies? I have fine hair too. I'm on a mix of methotrexate, prednisolone and hydroxychloroquine. Many thanks!

unexplained lower abdomen infection, increase Prednisone?
I’ve had a sore tender lower abdomen, temperature, shivers since Thursday teatime, which resulted in a trip to A&E (England). Admitted due to high CRP (267 instead of around 20), and high white cell count (20 instead of 10). Day 2 and CRP is now 277 but white cell count down to 15. So far they have

I’m sorry if this information is readily available on Q and A but I have been a headless chicken since being told I had an enlarged pituitary gland three weeks ago. hi. I’ve had pmr for nearly 10 years. I’ve been up and down prednisolone like a yo yo. Last year I got to my lowest dose of 3.5 mg, but then had relapse after relapse and at the end of the year was back at 10 mg. My doctor noticed I was overdue an appointment with rheumatology and I saw a new to me rheumatologist

How long on Prostap?
I was diagnosed in January2021 with PC. Gleeson 4+3 but PSA only ever up to 10. I have had four PSMA scans which show 8 metastases in skull, ribs, pubic bone, hip bone. These continue to grow. I have been on Aberiterone/prednisolone, plus Prostap every 3 months. I have growing levels of bone pain (

wife of Long term PMR sufferer
Hello. I am not the one suffering from PMR. It is my husband. He is 59 and has had PMR since the summer of 2022. He started with symptoms after having Covid and had to do on 40mg prednisolone before he felt any benefit. He works full time as a sports coach in a school so has little time to rest.

How long after reducing steriods does moon face go away?
Hey all, I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis after an 8 year long battle with chronic health. I was then put on 40mg of prednisolone and it took a long time for them to reduce and after two months I started to have moon face and a more rounded stomach. I am now starting 5mg from tomorrow and

Pink cheek, ref Rapid Access for hearing loss
Hi everybody hope you are all doing well. I've NOT been diagnosed but briefly this is where I am now and wonder if anybody had similar without it being AN. Tinnitus and pulsatile tinnitus 24/7 for past 14 months or so, random vertigo. Headaches left temple and to rear of ear like the lower skull area

Finally finished prednisolone.
Hi all, after just over 7.5 years I've finally managed to stop pred. It's been a very long and slow reduction with the inevitable hiccups along the way. I ended up on 0.5mg every 2 days and finished last week, with no ill effects that I'm aware of. The last PMR symptoms I had were in 2020. What I'd like

Moving to MTX after 9 years of prednisolone?
I would appreciate the expertise of the forum on my situation. I was diagnosed with PMR 9 years ago and have been on prednisolone since then. With a few flares, I’ve never been able to taper to below 4mg, usually taking between 5 - 7.5mg. The last year has been very stressful (bereavements, sepsis

pmr flare
Was at 4.5 mg of
prednisone
started to stiffen up. Had reduced from 10 mg by doing .5 mg per month. As per flare guidelines I went to 9 mg for nine days then 7 mg for 5 days so I could go back to 5 mg where I was last fine but at 7, I am still stiff and sore in my lower back and left groin area.

I've been on prednisolone for 10 years. Can't get off it. Even with nucala injections every 4 weeks. I had churg Strauss syndrome. And still on 11 drugs to get by. Every day. Including heart drugs. But still can't get PIP. Even though I would probably die before someone with a bit of arthritis who
