How long on Prostap?

I was diagnosed in January2021 with PC. Gleeson 4+3 but PSA only ever up to 10.

I have had four PSMA scans which show 8 metastases in skull, ribs, pubic bone, hip bone. These continue to grow.

I have been on Aberiterone/prednisolone, plus Prostap every 3 months. I have growing levels of bone pain (now on morphine), hot flushes and tiredness. My PSA remains at<0.001, but Oncologist agrees that it has never been a good guide .

My question: I have read that Prostap shouldn't be taken for more than 3 years. If so, what are the alternatives? What is the danger if I keep taking it? Could it be causing the bone pain?

Thank you to all

Usually you will take Prostap for the rest of your life, there is no limitation. Abiraterone is always used with ADT like Prostap. Prostap does not cause bone pain.

I would get a genetic test now to check for a BRCA Mutation. In this case you could take Olaparib. You could also get your bone mets radiated to mitigate the pain.

"I have read that Prostap shouldn't be taken for more than 3 years." Nonsense. Men with advanced PCa take it permanently.

I've been on Prostap injections since June 2020, so over 3 and a half years. Good luck to you mate.
