RHS facial paralysis since Decembhe - the longer it lasts the less likely it will go?
I had RHS on the 16 December and the left hand side of my face is still very paralyzed. My eye shuts now but doesn't blink and i find i have to tape it shut in the day sometimes as it gets sore even with the hylo forte eye drops. i have a referral to the facial nerve clinic but there is a long waiting

Do these really work
Ok so saw optometrist who agree with GP that my dry eyes is down to tear production not oil glands. Recommended Thera tears capsules, vita-pod ointment, lid wipes, heatnask & covers & hylo-forte drops to a tune of $170 but hylo-forte doing nothing can still feel my eyelids sticking occasionally, I seemed

kidney injury, pre eclampsia
I had severe preeclampsia and associated kidney injury (most likely acute kidney failure). Has anyone else experienced this and did you require follow up with nephrologist?

Natural does not mean safer. Red Yeast Rice, sold as Statin alternative, has similar risks!
...the common perception that natural is safer didn't pan out in the study of the Italian Surveillance System of Natural Health Products, similar to the findings of a prior French government analysis of adverse event reports it received on red yeast rice. : Red yeast rice supplements

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Nattokinase
I have mentioned Nattokinase in a number of posts, but have not reported on human studies before. There are no PCa studies on PubMed; nor are there any cancer studies at all. In fact, there are very few human studies. However, there is enough evidence to indicate that coagulation factors that might

Hi I would like to know how Robert17 and others feel with taking now for a few months this DMARD and what experience did you have. What about side effects? I have had PMR/GCA for over 2 years. In August I was at 6mg Predisone. Since then I am again at 10mg and the blood tests are not so good. At 6mg

Hello, and homocysteine
I'm Ruth, 65 and live in the UK. I recently did the Food for the Brain quiz and came out a bit iffy. So I did as they advised and had my homocysteine tested. The level was 9.4 which puts me at some risk of alzheimers according to their scale. I am aware of my memory and attention being less good than

OT Breast health
I have what my ex used to call 'luxury bumpers'. Recently I decided that whatever the woman in Debenhams said, I didn't seem to be a 34F and went off to Bravissimo, where an amazingly young, and very curvy girlie decided I was 32GG. So I bought some lovely new bras, which were really comfy and supportive

Empty 2nd sac is there a chance?
Hi, I had a scan at 7+5 as I had some pains and they wanted to check I wasn't ectopic. On the scan there's was on healthy baby with heartbeat and one empty sac next to it which was a bit smaller. They said it was probably a twin that didn't form but they'd check at 12 weeks if anything forms or if not

Letter from GP regarding Hylo-Forte
Well what a ridiculous letter I received from my GP practice yesterday. One of my regular prescriptions - Hylo-Forte 2% eye drops Preservative Free ( prescribed by the top Ophthalmologist at my local hospital regarding the importance of protecting both my corneas - for life) has now been substituted

Could it be pre-eclampsia?
So I'm 30 weeks now with my twins and since about week 14 I've had pain just below the breast bone on my right side and since around week 20 had brief flashes of light but only ever occurring in my right eye, usually when changing brightness in a room but becoming more frequent even without changes.

Preeclampsia at 19 weeks
Hi. I was diagnosed with preeclampsia at 19 weeks. I had blood pressure of 173/101 and a high level of protein in my urine. I'm now 20 weeks and the doctors told me that I cannot delay my pregnancy because my health could be negatively impacted and I could get seizures and such or even die. My baby will

Eye ointment for sjogren's syndrome?
Hello, I use Hylo-forte during the day for dry eyes & Lacri-lube at night both prescribed by my doctor. I am struggling with the Lacri-lube as it is fiddly to administer and I am not sure whether it is helping or not. Could you please advise as to another brand of eye ointment that I can use at night
