Had to see the specialist midwife yesterday that deals with multiple birth. On top of sever hip pain and back pain and vomiting I now have preeclampsia. I am only 24 weeks and I have never been so eager to have babies. I can't sleep at all I do is cry due to pain. It's too much can some one speed up time fore please.

Poor you, that sounds dreadful.

I never had preeclampsia, but doesn't that usually mean the babies need to come out asap? I thought so but looks like I'm wrong, which I hope!

It's probably not much help but remember that you've managed 24 weeks already, it's probably only ever going to be another 10 weeks with twins anyway (by which point they are very strong and capable to live out of the womb) so you've got the biggest part behind you! Even another 6 weeks and your babies will be pretty safe! What I'm trying to say is, even though it sounds quite long... The end is in sight :-)

Can you treat yourself to something in the meantime? Ie for every day or week that you've managed you get yourself something or your partner gives you a back massage or something? I had a lot of pain with my first one and every Wednesday I went to a cafe and got myself a nice hot chocolate and cake (it was winter and I had so much work on, so this really was a great). So if always count down to the next Wednesday, which was a lot easier than counting 10 or 20 weeks!

With my second one I had to be hospitalised with severe sinusitis that wouldn't go away, I was in so much pain and maxed out on pain relief for weeks. There is a lot you can be prescribed for pain that is safe during pregnancy - have they given you anything? Co-codamol or co-dydamol was what I was on for quite some time.

I hope things improve for you, the end is near and you'll have your beautiful children in your arms soon!

Hi SilkeP. 6 weeks sounds like next year to me lol but yes I do get you. I was given labetolo which I take twice a day and have to go in for urine and Bp check twice a week. On top of it all I am in so much pain from my muscle I am taking co dydromol but it is just not working. I feel like a walking dead. But thank you for your advice.
