What's worked for me
Hi all: I've been reading your posts for the last couple of months and I've appreciated some of the good ideas for dealing with rls. So, I thought I'd share what's been fairly reliable for me. I'm 36 and have had rls for as long as I can remember. My case is not severe enough for me to try prescription

Revised version of the list of things to try.
It must be a year since I posted a draft for comment. There have been a few changes so I thought it might be a good time to post this. I know its long but its not a book, just a list of things that have helped some people. Hi I assembled this list from reports on the forum and other sources just

Hi my MPN friends, just thought I would let you see one of many bruises from a silly accident I had at the weekend. Climbed onto a garden bench to try to see which one of my cats was having a dust up with female cat next door, to only come too on the ground where I had face planted the patio, must of

Help deciphering DNA and blood test results please anyone?
Long post alert. Apologies. I had thyroid cancer in 2013 treated with surgery, RAI and ongoing TSH suppression. Due to DNA results showing a likely problem with conversion (although bloods always normal) I recently upped T3 to 40mcg and lowered T4 to 100mcg. I actually feel worse. I'm also Homozygous

Thyroid and headaches
About two months ago I had extreme fatigue and migraines and found my TSH was 109. Since then I've gone on supplements which have handled the tiredness for the most part. I take Selenium, Magnesium, Iodine and other supplements connected to the thyroid but still get a headache/migraine that incapacitates

Allergic Reaction to Levothyroxine?
Hi guys, So I have Graves disease and got the RAI. I went hypo around the beginning of July and started 50 mcg of Levothyroxine. (These are all in the US scale of measurements) I recently went in to get tested and T4 was .70 (normal range 0.85-1.88) but my TSH was 0.1 (normal 0.45-5). My endocrinologist

Day after RAI
So I had my little radioactive pill yesterday morning. Loved the solid lead gift wrapping! It was a low dose so I've avoided a hospital stay. Cooped up in the bedroom, all restrictions applied, and dying for a hug from my confused ten year old. Was very excited to have a Geiger counter waved at me, being

Is it safe for me to have an iodine contrast dye injection for a CT Angiogram Coronary ? I have hashimotos and am concerned that the iodine will damage my thyroid health.

RAI
My friend's doctor told her that they no longer treat an overactive thyroid with radio active iodine - because it is to dangerous. Is this true?

Over medicated?
Hi, over the last week or so, I have noticed that I am sweating a lot more than usual, it is similar to when I was diagnosed as Hyperthyroid, however since having had RAI in 2013, the sweating improved a lot. Could it be that I am over medicating? I am taking 200mcg Levothyroxine (my g.p. wanted to increase

Radioactive Iodine Therapy
Hi all. I have Graves which appeared after my kids were born but responded to Carbimazole /PTU. Earlier this year it flared again (stress-related) and the ATDs aren't working (TSH <0.01 FT4 >100) & have caused my white blood cells to fall to dangerous levels. I've had to stop the Carbimazole & am waiting
