Thank you so much for posting this...there’s so very little written about surgical menopause!

I am coming up 2 years and still on the rollercoaster!It’s been the biggest challenge ever going through surgical menopause and not a twinkle of warning about how you may be affected by this major surgery...

No warning from my doctor at all!

The only "warning" or "concern" came from a friend who mentioned prior to the operation "wow, you are going to go into to full blown menopause after your operation".

I thought, oh, hot flashes. Yea, my sister gets them. No problem.

No hot flashes or sweating for me. I wish.

My feet, yes, my feet and hands sweated profusely all day. I would go through 6 pairs of socks a day.

My body, especially my arms burned like I had nerve damage . It stayed with me most of the day and was worse when I "tried" to lay down during the day. I could not lay down.

I would also twinge every few minutes.

I would also get the chills.

When I told my doctor my symptoms, she said it sounds like fibromyalgia and I am very depressed. That is it!

I later developed numbness sensations on my head and face.

My sleeping also was affected. No more restful nights or an occasional nap.

I would wake up nauseous too. Was this anxiety or is it the sinus issues you can now have.

I was so confused.

I made lists of everything I should eat for menopause and anxiety. Lots of protein. No sugar.

And, of course, back to some sort of medication for my anxiety. Zanax. smallest dose possible. Of course the psychiatrist wants you on Zoloft. I couldn't wait the the 4-6 weeks for it to "kick in"

Thankfully I forced myself back to work and 2 coworkers experienced similar symptoms.

Numbness, the burning. She thought she had diabetes.

I also found info on the WEB confirming some women do experience the tingling, chilling burning crawling sensations.

I am on week 13 and starting to have less symptoms Diet? patience? Zanax? therapy? lots of praying.

I drink tart cherry juice and almonds before bed and sometimes take melatonin.

I am now get a hot flash with sweating at night.

My feet do not sweat as much.

I too, wish I could have been better prepared for this.
