Just after advice. Just over 3 weeks ago I had a lap to remove both ovarie and tubes. They also removed nodules from belly button and pouch of douglas and separated organs that were attached because of endo.
I was told by nurse that as it was a lap it would only take 2 weeks to get back to normal. I'm extremely bloated when I do too much or stand on my feet to long as in I look 9 months pregnant. Im still not lifting anything just in case I pull stitches inside.
Due to my age, 39, I was put on elleste duet hrt is anyone else on this? There are 2 lots of tablets 16 days white and 12 days green. It's only been 3 days on the green tablets but I have a raging sore head and my joints are really sore, feels as though limbs are made of lead. Is this normal?
My emotional state and mental state is up and down with hormones as it it and starting to feel really low with it all xxxxx

Sounds like you have really been thru it...after all that it will take a lot longer to heal than 2 weeks, thats the thing with laps, a few scars on the outside but inside thing of all the prodding about they have done let alone all the removal of it. Give yourself time. Regarding the hrt, I am not at that stage yet as my ovaries were left but now they want to remove them 2 yrs on but I am worried about surgical menopause. Hopefully you will settle down when your body adjusts to it. Maybe go back to gp for help. I really hope things improve, its one thing recovering from the op but when u r dealing with all those extra symptoms it must be unbearable. Such an awful disease, why us 😢😬xx
Thank you. I know its awful. The surgical menopause does come as a bit of a shock and not always text book. I hope it all goes well for you and please don't expect what you hear about menopause everyone is different.
I have an appt with my consultant at 12wzeks as that is, when I would have completed my 3 months course of hrt.
Its the unknown that scares me as I have heard so many women on here saying they have had ovaries out and endo still returns and my gp also said it will never go once it has a hold over u so not sure whether to go thru it as was told hyst would cure me but hasnt. But I know this pain cannot continue, Its all so confusing and stressful. Let us know how you get on and dont rush your recovery xx
I know, I was petrified but pain was too much. I can't really say just now about wether or not it is helping as early doors. I was told by my consultant that it wouldn't stop it but it wouldn't produce new as it comes from the ovaries with the eostrogen. He has also removed what he can see to prevent it spreading. The only way is to discuss with your consultant in depth. Sometimes the fear and unknown as well as the emotions clouds your judgement. No matter how much I searched the Internet and read God knows how much conflicting information I don't think you know until you go through it.
Sorry to hear you’re feeling so rough. I’ve had both ovaries and tubes removed, two separate surgeries, two years apart, with stage 4 endo. Because I’d had a history of DVT the gynae (specialist endo centre) referred me to the menopause clinic to discuss hrt. I am on Sandrena gel (the oestrogen) and utrogestan tablet (progesterone) as I still have a uterus. Like you I took a good while to recover from my surgery as I’d had extensive excision surgery as well as the oophrectomies. Give yourself time. I’m slightly surprised that you are on a cyclical type hrt, I’m no expert, but with endo I’d have thought you’d have continuous, ie no time when uterus or endo enters a ‘shedding’ stage, but I could be wrong on this. If your hrt isn’t suiting you don’t hesitate to ask for referral to menopause clinic, they are real specialists, unlike the majority of GPS or I vein general gynae specialists. Thank you, its awful now 7 weeks anf feel so much better just tired and have deep right hand pain still which I also had before. Much more relief elsewhere though. Glad I had it done. Hope you are well xx
It will take much longer than 2 weeks to recovery! However, at this point you really shouldn’t be having this much bloating. I am 2 weeks post one sided ovary and tube removal + other stuff and my tummy is flat (still a lot of pain and fatigue though). You definitely shouldn’t be back to normal but all that gas should be out of your system by now. Are you going to the bathroom regularly?
I have been constipated, I spoke with my local chemist who advised that the lactulose I have been taken is quite bad for bloating and wind, so think this is my problem. Xx
It takes several weeks to recover. I recall my GP saying that the consultant was talking rubbish when he initially signed me off for 5 days! I had to try several HRT 's until I got the right one. I could tell pretty much immediately that they weren't right for me despite being told to give it time. I was also progesterone intolerant it transpired! I'm on estrogel. Sandrena was the next on the list for me to try, as prescribed by one of the best HRT people in the South West. (sadly retired). She also prescribed testosterone (TESTOGEL) which is usually completely missed. We need and make that naturally too, and it's that that gives up get up and go. (Sadly I couldn't use it either, but worth discussing with your consultant.) You will get there!
It is good to know not going mad lol. I'm getting stronger each day but will def discuss hrt. I also, don't feel this one isnt right for me. Hope you are doing well now xx
