Good news for a rainy morning??
I have just received a copy of a letter to my gp from my consultant with the results of my recent ultrasound. (This was back in Feb when I was jaundiced and have fluid retention again). It says that the ultrasound shows an irregular looking liver with the enlarged spleen. Shows minimal ascites. Liver

Bad reaction to Jarrow B-Right?
Hi All, I have been taking B12 regularly for a while now and wanted to add a B-complex to ensure B vitamins in balance. Took Jarrow B-Right at 3pm and seemed to have an awful reaction. Took it about 3pm. By 5pm felt really awful - literally struggling to keep my eyes open, but with a tight feeling in

Possible hypothyroidism problems?
Hi there, for the past month and a half I have been ridiculously drained of all energy and constantly in a state of dizziness. I also always feel in a state of malaise like I'm never really concentrating properly and forget things that I have just been told. As well as this I've been having nights where

Levothyroxine and supplements
Do supplements react with levothyroxine? I was diagnosed hypo 6 months ago and was prescribed 100mg from day 1. I take my levothyroxine at night and in the morning I take Menopace, vitamin B complex and evening primrose oil. (As I'm a moody menopausal cow! Lol) Do they affect each other? I constantly

Naturopath?
For the past 7 months I've been on Amitriptyline (75mg) and Propranolol (40mg twice daily). The first 3 months were AWFUL! Sleeping every chance I got, terrible dry mouth/throat, no motivation for life, extra irritable, awful acid reflux, no appetite or sex drive. Spoke with my neurologist and he said

Vegan for four months, now
Hello, I am a new member and thought I would share my story. I became a vegetarian in Christmas 2013 after being asked to prepare a leg of pork for Christmas lunch. I suddenly had a realisation that this lump of meat was actually a leg that had been running around not long before and although I persevered

Neurologist appointment wasn't too bad yesterday but still need help
The neurologist was nice: gentle, calm and listened to me, even though I was not at my best and ranted on a bit. Hard to get through 2 1/2 years of stuff, after waiting for 5/6 months (which I understand is quite good for neurology), without getting a bit angry or upset, and the appointment goes so

Hi I've just had my results from Medichecks yesterday as GP won't test anything other than TSH. Bit of history, feeling very hypo since the Autumn. Persuaded doc to do the following in January: B12 401 (190 - 660) Folate 4.1 (3.9 - 26.8) Ferritin is 32.5 (24 - 400). I've been taking the following since

Stop supplements before doing blood tests?
Hi, I've ordered thyroid and vitamin (B12, ferritin, fplate and D3) test from medichecks. I've just read on a post today that you should stop iron supplements for a week before you test your ferritin to get any iron out of your system. As I also supplwmwnt D3 and good vitamin B complex daily, does anyone

Finally had blood tests
Hi all. I finally 'bit the bullet' and had my bloods done for Hep C and B. This was after scans which showed fibrosis and 'some' cirrhosis. Saw a Dr at my usual practice. Never seen her before. She told me to immediately stop my anti depressants as they would badly damage my liver further. Left confused

Okay. So my leavers were optimal on tsh, freeT3 and freeT4. I then was put on 50,000 of vitamin d twice a week for the last few months and vitamin B. Don't know if this was the reason why but my last labs my tsh was .2 and my free T4 was right at the top number of the range and my free T3 was tiny bit
