Anyone with a BA baby had difficulty with potty training?
My daughter has Biliary Atresia and is one of twins (her sister does not have BA). We have noticed that Sophie is always slower in her development but it is now 9 months since her sister mastered the potty and we are still struggling with Sophie. She was doing well this week until today when she has

Anyone every been told in years how much the Urso can slow down the progression of PBC?
The reason I ask is that I was told at my last appointment when I asked if I needed to go back on Urso( due to my Lft enymes being very elevated though Albumen normal and Bilirubin only slightly raised at 30) that even if I did go back on it, it may only slow down the progression by a year or two tops

Recovery is Possible - Assuming You Know What's Really Wrong... Part 3 - Symptoms vs Tests - The Adrenal Piece of the Puzzle
Hello again. Continuing on... Having established thyroid function probably not the only problem it was confirmed with a saliva test panel (Genova). Here are the results. NOTE: This was done while I was on 0mcg thyroxine for 10 days + no other supplements. Cortisol 8.00 am 4.7 (ref. 12-22)

Does Levothyroxine only replace T4?
I've just been to my doctor's to ask to switch my medication. Or go see a specialist. The doctor told me that my last blood test showed that all my levels TSH, FT4 and FT3 are perfectly ok. I asked to change to a Desiccated Thyroid Hormone. I'm currently on Synthetic Levothyroxine (T4) Tablets and

Newbie - Should I be considering supplements?
Hi. After months of feeling rubbish I finally got a diagnosis of under active thyroid yesterday and have started on 50 mcg of Levothyroxine today. My GP didn't mention any additional blood testing for vitamin deficiencies. Is this something I should be requesting? Should I be considering taking additional

Hi all, we had our first visit to Kings with our 2 year old daughter last Friday. She has been suffering with jaundice, itching and upset stomach. She has had a scan which was clear and we are now waiting on more blood results, she has also been booked to have a liver biopsy in a couple of weeks time

My relative is fair but her two cheeks are with dotting pigmentation.
After trying some whitening products, she got like sun burn. Her nose & forehead also appears with some. Could it be Melasma? After this, it has become stubborn, trying all kind of products or taking all supplements which are claimed to be useful, but for her only with very little effect. Is there a

Hi, sorry not been active as much as I would like on here have been in hibernation..too fatigued to try. Just a short update. As I blogged before I have had issues with my weight due to steroids. Has anyone been on meds for over 10 years ?
When I was diagnosed 12 years ago my Haematologist (I must add that he was not a nice man!) told me right from the beginning that my ET probably wouldn't kill me - but being on Hydrea 'long term' would - his opinion was that if the condition itself hadn't turned into Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) within

low libido - following poll re testosterone...
Hi i was heartened (weird thing to say in the context) to read that other people suffered from a low libido - it may not be "just me"!! i will definitely ask my doc about testosterone/progesterone/hormone tests but sadly was in hosp this morning so that may be a way off. So in the meantime
