Summer 2021 GMU Race Report
The photos show: Race breifing, start tunnel, a view into Wales, the Airstrip, the "bridge" where I sprained my ankle (mistook the foliage top right of the sleeper for solid ground) and a view over Bristol. I think this counts as a long post! OK. It all started with a conversation at Pomphrey Hill Parkrun

Leg pain
Can someone please advise if the leg pain and exhaustion I am feeling can be down to the thyroid meds - have had X-rays and physio nothing seems to have helped- today is particularly bad, now in both legs. Does anyone else experience this.

Physio question
I did my first Park Run on 7th August, very stupidly ignoring a twinge in my ankle after my run on the previous Thursday. Long story short, I'd pulled a ligament and could only hobble as a result. I called my GP after a couple of weeks and was referred to an NHS physio appointment this Thursday. At

Aches & Pains after Bypass
I don't know what everyone else is feeling, but I found that after having triple bypass surgery 6 months ago, I was sent home and sort of left to it. The surgeon saw me, once after 6 weeks, did some tests and said I was fine. My incision opened up which is another story. My cardiologist spoke to me

Late to the pilates party
Unfortunately I won't be getting a new PB in the Bristol half marathon next month because I won't be taking part at all. I've had to give my place away after damaging my hip 8 weeks ago while following a Garmin strength workout, to improve my running time. (I'm well aware of the irony of being one

Tips for returning after injury
So, I made it all the way to the end of w4 before injuring my ankle! At the advice of my physio, I'm not running for a few weeks but I'm already wondering how best to start back. I want a plan so that I keep motivated and don't just return to the couch. Do I start again from w1, pick up where I left

Injury & motivation
Hi just signed on. I’ve had an injury to my achilles for about a year. I’ve been to see the physio and he did relieve the pain and it has got better. When I run now I’m extremely wary just in case I hurt myself again. Can anyone suggest how I can improve?

Sleeping on back for at least 8 weeks
Hi, in week 7 post cabg and rehab physio told me to sleep on back until end week 8 to all sternum to heal properly… so definitely sleep on back for a few more weeks. Yes I prefer my side but doing what is needed for recovery.

Buprenorphine/ Subutex,, Temgesic,CBD, THC , Traumeel injections
I can’t not emphasis this enough Anyone starting Buprenorphine / Subutex Or the micro dose version Temgesic. You will not get this advice from your doctors but I urge you to start in this manor. Buy a pill cutter and nightly cut you sublingual tablet into about 8 /10 tiny little crumbs. These medications

Is this normal?
Hi all, So I posted a while back after I got diagnosed with osteoporosis and had a vertebral fracture. Turns out I actually had 4 vertebral fractures, not 1 like they initially thought! I’m about 8 weeks out from the fractures (and so 8 weeks in to taking alendronic acid) so they should be just about
