Integrating a holistic approach to kidney health
What happens when 3 women in London, a renal physio, renal dietician and yoga teacher/nutritional therapist (that's me!) chat. All of us, working with kidneys in different contexts, coming together in honest dialogue. Chairing this panel yesterday, 'Integrating a holistic approach to kidney health'

Had my Cardio - physio assessment this morning
It wasn't too bad although I realise how unfit I am, I was struggling to answer what kind of exercise I currently do. I did the bleep test, something I haven't done for about 30 years, we went to level 6 to get my heart rate to 120 but obviously the physio said she would be looking for constant improvement

Losing my determination
I was diagnosed with NSCLC in mid 2019 after extensive tests at a hospital with a specialist dept for diagnosis and forward treatment. One primary tumour in each lung and 2 lymph. They passed me over to the Oncology dept once diagnosis was complete. First was Pembrolizumab which gave a tangible improvement

Stretching exercises really help RLS! Please try.
Hiya - I wanted to let everyone know that my physio gave me some exercises to do for RLS (well Restless everything Syndrome...). I've been doing these - plus some of my own - for a couple of months now, and the difference they make is this: I can delay taking medication for at least a couple of hours

Fullness or pressure sensation
A few days ago i had bad lower back pain so decided to crack on with some exercises i had off the physio. As i lay flat on my back on the floor i had a weird sort of fullness or pressure in my head. A bit like blood flowing to my head. Its hard to describe exactly what it is. I habe been a little bunged

Shoulder injury & pain killers with HD
I have what doc and physio think might be a shoulder injury (although I don’t remember injuring it) or possibly rotator cuff problem or impingement.. they can’t decide. I’m know I’m not supposed to take anti inflammatory painkillers, so what can I take? The doc is next to useless and tried to prescribe

Surgery Over
Had my surgery last Thursday ant the lead up was all very scary. I was admitted to hospital the evening before and my op was at 2 Thursday afternoon. Thank you 😊
Thanks to everyone who encouraged me after my misery post last week. I have run three times this week, the same safe, flat 5k route each time. I still have piriformis syndrome but the physio said it was ok to run as long as I keep within my limits and concentrate on 'running from my hips, not my feet

Is it possible to have 2 chronic headaches together?
Hi there, nearly 2 years ago I was diagnosed with new daily persistent headache by the headache clinic. I’m now trying to go back, as my physio who deals with headaches/migraines (it’s her thing), spoke to me about visual snow syndrome, after chatting to me at length and me seeing her for various other

Winter running - some tips
We often see posts here from beginners and new graduates asking how to approach their running as the days get shorter and the weather worsens. Whilst the advice in this video from Mike James ('The Endurance Physio' - also a very experienced triathlete/runner and coach) has *not* been tailored for C25Kers

Time to Lose Weight
With not being able to use my prosthetic for nine months, being mainly confined to a wheelchair and with zero physio my weight has shot up to 102.6 kg. One problem is the more I weigh the greater my insulin requirements and the faster the weight gain. I have decided to post to try and increase my motivation

Feeling fed up, after feeling elated a few weeks ago. Thanks to Joanna Lane of the Christopher Lane Trust, my husband was diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency, and is going to receive treatment. Then he was also due to start physio on Monday, so everything was looking up. Then his breathlessness

Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion.
Had my operation on Wednesday and glad to say that all went well. No complications apart from my blood pressure and oxygen levels in recovery, kept me in there for 6 hours or so. But anyway I’m home now and recovering well. Physio say 3 months recovery and consultant says 7 weeks. I see how I go after

All good intentions of running yesterday..... Derailed by a kakky night shift, coupled with the magnetic forces of a warm bed grrrrrrr... Not so today Ian oh no. After dispatching the oversleeping daughters, it's wake up time... The standard breakfast of champions and a coffee, Dip a toe outside yep
