Post op care
My dad had open aortic valve replacement 2 weeks ago at St. George’s. He was discharged within 4 days of the operation with minimal medication and no plan for physio or rehab if any kind. His follow up with the surgeon is not until July and is only a phone appointment. Is that right? How can they tell

NERVE COMPRESSION, looking for a solution
Has anyone had experience with a tumor compressing a nerve in the spinal cord, causing a symptom, then getting that nerve to work again? In January of this year a tumor in my spine compressed a nerve that caused me to lose my ability to walk. I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on what to

Give me the strength to deal with life
Last year I spent approximately six months with problems with my knees; I couldn't see a doctor and be only able to talk on the phone; he kept referring me to physio, but the physio said it was inflammatory, and the doctor just wrote it off. Eventually, I had an x-ray, which showed minimal wear and

pain sensitisation, linking it to my adhd
I wanted to share my latest discovery about my ADHD. I’m blown away that I am learning more about myself since the age of 50, than ever before. I wanted to share this so that it could help any of you that could be having some of the same problems. So in my last post a couple of months ago I was feeling

Ankle injury
I'm having a time of my life. I'm camping at a quiet small town. I woke up early to run. I start along a beautiful creek, I see a hot air balloon going up in a distance, what a beautiful morning. I go under a road bridge, cross old swing bridge, go up to a look out point (almost) getting hot and sweaty

Questions re: Mirena coil & surgery follow up! What check should be done?
She agreed to some onward referrals to pelvic
physiotherapy
and health psychology, which I’m grateful for. However the she did not carry out any physical or internal exam, and said I would get a 6-month telephone review.

Holidays
Wife has just had last physio session before we hitch up the caravan. All being well she will be OK for about 2 weeks. With holidays in mind thought that photos from past excursions might be of interest. Today`s is from our favourite capital city, Lisbon. So many UK visitors head to France and Spain

One week before my 1st HM, but it's been complicated...
A week ago I went to the physio because I had painful calves following a soleus injury, which I thought was better. She said they were just stiff & gave me stretches and the all clear for the HM, so I went away happy. On Monday, at school, in a room full of 60 year 11s I tripped over a bin 😭 In my

I've lurked and read the pinned things and the signposts and as much as i can find. it was about a year and a half ago that pain started in my hips, and it was last October when the gp was confident about it being pmr enough to start corticosteroids

Week 5 Run 3
Well that was a mental battle. Right up until I laced up my trainers I was still undecided as to whether to repeat Week 5 run 2 for the 3rd time or go for Run 3, which was the big step up to a single 20 min run. I hadn’t run for a week due to having a bad cold, would that affect my run? Could I do it

Breaking both elbows was a big setback
I think maybe I need some
physiotherapy
to get the shoulders and elbows moving better. My energy is improving and my blood tests have improved with the Rinvoq . Sorry this is so long. It has been a rough go, but I have managed to keep up my spirits, and now it is Spring.

So, do we go away as planned or go for nearly two weeks? Two weeks not as we had originally planned as not
