Hi all, I'm scheduling for aka Comprehensive Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery (Rotator Cuff Repair, Subacromial Decompression, and Shoulder Tenotomy). Fun! I live alone. I've arranged for cleaning, for grocery and food delivery, for errand running. I will try to schedule physical therapy and gather meds

ET and Successful Hip Replacement
Hello friends, I posted some months ago about needing hip replacement for arthritis, and I appreciate the many replies I received. I am 5 weeks out from my surgery and doing great. I was able to have the surgery where I see my MPN specialist. I was nervous, given this was my first surgery since diagnosis

heart attack/takyasu arteritis

I’m a 73yr old woman who has had PMR for nearly three years. I started at 15mg of Pred reducing slowly so that I’m now on 1.5mg. My doctor tells me this is a marathon not a sprint! However I now have very stiff shoulders and neck not to mention heavy legs and stiff hand particularly when I awake. I went

What shoes do you wear for walking? Or: The Slow-as-a-Snailshoe Epiphany
Long-rambling-post warning! And … shoe-bling alert!!!! I bought a new pair of shoes for walking and everyday casual. And I just have been out for some walking today. I love them. So have you ever had a shoe epiphany? Well I have had one, but it was a very long, slow one that lasted over the last

My Update on Breathing and 02 SATs...
Thank you all that replied to my post - My SATS are not to blame for my Breathlessness - But something is and it's being sorted. I went to see my GP and my 02 SATs are normal for me, They go to 89 and even lower, but not consistently. I normally am 92 at the moment - but as I say can go lower. I

Weekly Chat 8th - 14th July; Keeping Off The Injury Couch!
This post could have been titled “note to self” as I am sure that my injury record is worse than most! I put it down to age and only finding running six years ago, but on the one rainy day in our Scilly stay, I got to thinking about why this happens. This train of thought started with a long chat with

Please share experience or advice re Risedronic acid and zoledronic acid use for low T score/ osteoporosis in GCA/PMR.
I have recently had a follow up Dexa scan. The last one was 2 years ago. I have GCA and PMR. At 20 mg pred and reducing after a recent flare of GCA. The scan has shown a significant deterioration in my lumbar spine but not in my hips/femur region which are still osteopenic. L1-L4 5/6/2024. BMD
