Amlodipine & PAFs
3 years ago I was prescribed Amlodipine for high blood pressure. Since then I have had 3 attacks of PAF. I have seen on some website forums that Amlodipine can cause fibrillations. Does anyone know any more about this or had any similar experiences?

Simvastatin warning
I have received a letter today from my GP informing me that the MHRA have issued a statement cautioning the use of simvastatin with Amlodipine as it has a likelihood of side effects particularly in the form of aching muscles and I thought my muscles where aching from getting out of the armchair

MCTD/Lupus and lower back pain - sacroilliac joints apparently! Is this as good as it gets?
I think I'm generally quite lucky that my mixed connective tissue disease is relatively under control. As I've had it explained to me, it's a mix of Lupus and Rheumatoid arthritis basically with the same general treatment as Lupus so I'm on 400mg plaquenil plus 400mg pregabalin for fibromyalgia and

Amlodipine
Hi - I saw the Rheumatologist today and he has put me on Amlodipine 5mg tablets as I got constant headaches with the Adalat LA and the Nifedipine. Anyone else on the Amlodipine? If so, do you get on ok with them? Thanks Carol

Could my breathlessness also be related to high blood pressure as well as emphysema, my doctor just doesn't seem to listen to me.
I was visited by the respiratory nurse at home last week, who told me my chest sounded clear although I was quite breathless. My temperature was fine and sats 92%. However when she did my blood pressure she was concerned as the both readings were 200/110 and told me to see my doctor. She recorded the

High blood pressure!
Hi all, I did mention my blood pressure in an earlier post… I have been treated for high blood pressure for about three years now. After being discharged from hospital due to a WG flair, I was put on 5mg of Ramipril by my nephrologist to control the hypertension. I was on high oral doses of Prednisolone

A New - Old Drug That Is Making a Major Difference for Me
I have long been convinced that there are nuggets of gold buried in the massive accumulation of 40 years of research that has built up since Ldopa took the stage. Common sense tells me that it is not possible for such a huge amount of data spread over several disciplines to build up without overlooking

newbie - both asthma and this website
Hi all, I have just been more or less diagnosed with asthma at the grand old age of 36. My nurse says, we wont say it is right now until we are sure the treatment works but as I am feeling a good bit better today than I was yesterday I think it's fair to say it's working. I have had a cough non-stop

Much help needed please. . . SSc DUs complicated by Raynaud's. . . Throbbing pain & no sleep in over a month
Hello, I live in New Jersey with my boyfriend & our 2 month old son. My boyfriend was diagnosed with Scleroderma & Raynaud's at about age 9. He is now age 28, far exceeding the doctor's initial expectations on mortality. Upon diagnosis, which was not easy to come by, he was treated quite aggressively

Is anyone taking fluoxetine for Raynaud's?
My rheumy has me on amlodipine 5mg, but it's not relieving my Raynaud's at all. She just added fluoxetine 20mg to use as a vasodilator. Has anyone tried this for their R's? I'm curious about real experiences and if it truly helps.
