Checking medication
Hi, I was chatting to a colleague today about their restless legs which have been unbearable lately. Their doctor put them on Perindopril for high blood pressure, Amiodipine- a calcium channel blocker, and Fenofibrate for high cholesterol. He thought they made his legs so much worse (his doctor doesn't

Cough
I’ve had a persistent, dry and unproductive cough for a good while now. When the many bouts of coughing occur, they are uncontrollable and go on for at least a minute. They are exhausting. They are much worse at night so I am not sleeping well. My cardio nurse suggested that I contact my GP as perindopril

hello, is anyone on this calcium channel blocker? Just wondered as seems to cause least side effect in terms of redness feet/ swelling compared with, for example Amlodipine . Thank you. Think one of the newer calcium channel blockers so might be expensive I suppose. Also not sure about dosage seems

Any recommended cardiologists in far NW/NE England for specific BP problems
Now on 4+ years Long Covid problems with a mix of high BP when for eg sitting ( systolic into 160s), but very low postural hypotension when standing. Have been on 6 pills to reduce BP, left on 5 for 2 years until last Jan. when a Falls consultant with tilt test table diagnosed the postural hypotension

Had Ablation in '23 lately suffering from frequent PAC's.
Was wondering if any of you fine folks are having or have had bouts of frequent PAC's and what you are doing or what your doctor prescribed to get rid of them. I'm still in sinus rhythm according to my EKG but experiencing PAC's daily. I am currently on no antiarrhythmics and on Metoprolol for rate

Neuropathy and Osteoarthritis
Hello All, I am writing on behalf of my 89 year old mom who has been struggling with severe leg and back pain. Mom had Guillaune Barre Syndrome in 2009 resulting from the flu vaccine and both knee replacements prior to that. She is diabetic and otherwise cognitively fine. Her pain causes her syncope

Amlodipine and swollen ankles
Since taking Amlodipine for high blood pressure, my ankles and now my lower legs swell in the evening. They are back to normal by the following morning and I always spend the evening with my feet raised and exercising my ankles. I am told that this is a side effect of the Amlodipine, but does anyone

Amlodipine flushing
my GP moved me off 10mg Ramipril due to cough. And on to Amlodipine. I had a week of 5mg at crossover and have now been on 10mg a couple of weeks, I am now getting facial flushing and also my feet seem red coloured when standing and walking as though blood is pooling there, No swollen ankles/legs

Ckd 2 and Amlodipine
I'm taking a low dose of Amlodipine now and Lisinopril to regulate blood pressure. I've read there have been some evidence of calcium blockers contributing to progression. I'm checking sources with conflicting views. Any input from the group? Thanks for your time!
