I am on 10mgs daily, and it has helped. The side effects include headaches tho, but these went after a few days. I think some people have worse side effects, but i,m doing ok with it. I have Scleroderma with secondary raynauds.

I also take 10mgs daily and it does help me. It does not stop raynauds attacks but it seems to prevent them occuring as frequently (although in this cold weather I do not think anything can help much!). I have no side-effects from taking it. I also take ramipril. I have CREST.

I was taking Nifedipine but the side effects were horrid. My GP changed me to Amlodipine and I didn't have any negative side effects, thankfully. Though the hot flashes can get a tad embarrassing at times, but I take advantage of the heat surge haha!! I have primary Raynauds. Best thing to do in this weather is prevent yourself from getting cold, layers layers layers!

Hi JPhlps, I too tried Nifedipine - eek it was far worse.

Not tried this one.... but yesterday another lady with Raynaud's is actually on Viagara - so it goes to show everyone is so different with regards to medication.

Hello, I have been on Nifedipine but I could not cope with the side effects. I then tried Amlodipine 10mgs but it did not work well for me.

My Rhumatologist recommended Opilon (Moxisylyte is an alpha-adrenergic blocking agent. Opilon tablets are indicated in the short term control of the symptoms of primary Raynaud's phenomenon)

However my GP was not familiar with it so they gave me Praxilene(Naftidrofuryl oxalate) it is for the peripheral circulation and control of Reynauds. netdoctor.co.uk/heart-and-b...

To get the full benefit you have to take it for three months and if it wokks continue taking it. I have been taking it for a month and it seems to suit me. It does give me the occasional hot flush. I also bought some cheap grey socks with pink toes from M&S they are four pounds a pair and come up to the knee.Thermal Knee High Socks. I have been wearing them under my leggings with trousers over my leggings plus my boots I have coped with the freezing weather. The socks do pill but that does not worry me. They are soft and warm and do not irritate me as wool does.

Isn't it good when you find something that helps.

My sympathy with anyone who is struggling in this very cold weather.

Best Wishes
