Post ablation arrhythmia-early days
Diagnosed with PAF a year ago, prescribed various meds including amiodarone, no effect except potential for unpleasant side effects, so stopped in January. Prescribed Xarelto anti coagulant which caused severe anaemia from internal bleeding, blood and iron transfusions followed, I am now taking Eliquis

Hair loss and eliquis
Hi. I had 3 strokes in 2017 for unknown reasons. I’m 46. They placed a loop recorder and finally after a year I had one episode of a fib. Nothing since. Was placed on Eliquis the first of August and have lost about 1/2 of my hair. I’m so scared. My hair is gone. I have chicks of baldness. I want off.

Ablation recommended for my mother at 92 yrs old?
Hi All - I write here for my mother who is 92 yrs old and has had afib for over 30 yrs now. Lately she is having more episodes that last longer periods of time. We saw her cardio/EP today and her heart is beating too fast. She has a pace maker that keeps her heart from going below 60 beats a minute

Anticoagulants
I am looking to see my GP for discussions on changing from Warfarin. It would appear that there are four other medication. Pradaxa (dabigatran), Xarelto (rivaroxaban), Eliquis (apixaban), and most recently Savaysa (edoxaban) Unlike warfarin, the newer drugs are, it says, safer and easier for patients

Anyone taking NAC while on an anticoagulant or using it to replace a more orthodox anticoagulant?
The feedback on NAC for dealing with early symptoms of COPD is very impressive and evidenceis starting to emerge that it can also alleviate the symptoms of osteoarthritis. As it also acts as a blood thinner and I am on Eliquis I am worried about being ‘over thinned’. Anyone had any experience of

Svt’s and Afib
I had cardiac ablation March 2018. Two week heart monitor showed some Svt’s and some Afib. On medication and blood thinner. What heart medicine do you take to control Svt’s? I have had multaq, tioksen, amiodarone, flecainide. I now am on metropolol, fosinopril, and eliquis. I have read on this

New and looking for advice
Hi all! I'll start by saying that I haven't been diagnosed with APS - or tested even - but I would like to share my story and hopefully receive some advice on where I should go from here! I apologize it's a lengthy one.. but I will try to keep things relative and I am appreciative of anyone who actually

What about stopping the anticoagulant for another procedure?
I have AFib and I'm on Eliquis. I'm due for a colonoscopy. I'd have to stop the Eliquis temporarily. My dr will have an opinion but I'm wondering what others do. Forgo the procedure? Opt for an alternative perhaps? Accept the risk of stroke from being off the anticoagulant? I'm just starting to research

Bypass surgery burning, nausea from Amiodarone
My mother had double bypass for AFIB in May 2018. Her surgery was successful but not with some complications. She had two ablations done prior to the bypass. Both being on 4/7/2017 and 11/13/2017. The first ablation procedure was stopped due to a wire nicking an artery. The second was a success. The

what are common ibs food triggers?
been recently diagnosed with IBS-D (make that urgent, uncontrollable D) and it seems like everything triggers it! My doctor did not recommend trying the low fodmap diet (and I don't think I could!), so I've been trying to eat more healthily while avoiding IBS. As per my gastro doc, I am taking IBgard

NAC: Treating Apnea that contributed to AFIB
After trying 0, 1/4, 1/2, and 1 teaspoonful of NAC (n-acetyl-l-cysteine powder) at bedtime, my AHI (pulse oximeter adjusted index) has dropped significantly. It is tart to me so I mix it with warm honey water. Tolerance of NAC & impact on AHI probably will vary greatly depending on individuals; only

Chronic Cough since ablation-meds or TEE damage
6 weeks post cryoablation and still have a chronic hacking all day cough. On metoprolol , Digoxin & Eliquis & 81 aspirin. TEE was rough due to small esophagus and they scraped throat pretty bad. Anyone else have damage like I have and cough?
