6 weeks post cryoablation and still have a chronic hacking all day cough. On metoprolol , Digoxin & Eliquis & 81 aspirin. TEE was rough due to small esophagus and they scraped throat pretty bad. Anyone else have damage like I have and cough?

Chronic Cough since ablation-meds or TEE damage
This is not uncommon I'm afraid. I think there is probably only one size of camera for TOE so you maybe suffered more than most. Obviously you are in USA as here in UK aspirin is not used unless you have other cardiac issues. We also spell oesophagus with an O! lol
Sorry to hear about your discomfort. I had that chronic kind of cough after my first ablation and I think actually before, if I remember correctly. I think it was partly from the powerful meds I was on.
I didn't have it for the 2nd one. That experience was physically far less invasive and much more pleasant, though it didn't stop the episodes completely. I woke up feeling fabulous.
I'm sure that acupuncture and the herbs my doc gave me to support my system before and after my ablation helped a lot. You might consider seeking an acupuncturist for help with your recovery.
I swear by this herbal tincture by Blue Poppy Herbs called "Lung Qi Jr."
Here's a link for it:

It's actually a pediatric dose, no alcohol, quite gentle. My acup. introduced me to it and it's amazing. Doesn't interact with meds and works wonders on a cough. I take some if I'm exposed to sick people; the herbs literally gobble up the virus before it sets in.
I just remembered another secret weapon that helped me a lot while in the hospital. My acupuncturist had introduced me to these wonderful cough drops that are gentle and have herbs in them that soothe the throat. They don't interact with medications, are safe, and taste good.
I had brought a bunch of them to the hospital and sucked on one after the other for most of the time I was there post-ablation. They are far superior to Halls and other brands both in flavor and effectiveness in calming and soothing a sore throat.
I've bought them by the half kilo: goldenlotusherbs.com/produc...
Hope that helps!
I would question your doc about the rationale for the digoxin. Although it probably has nothing to do with your cough, Nothing you mentioned is any indication for a med that can cause problems and needs monitoring.
get the CRP blood test done . I think there is inflammation in your body beyond the normal range. Pl get back after the test report . in case of inflation try swedish massage with oil and turmeric
I’m 10 weeks post cryoablation and my chronic dry hacking cough is getting worse. The cough started soon after ablation. It feels like an asthma attack. Hard to breathe deeply sometimes and is worse in morning and sometimes evenings. Chest X-ray and spirometer normal however. A rare side effect of ablation is pulmonary vein stenosis but I doubt that’s the cause
I have an appointment with EP next Thursday and will be discussing it with him
