Starting Eliquis today
I received my 1st 3 month supply of Eliquis. After reading what can go wrong when taking this drug, I must say is a little scary. One question I have is what if you want to stop taking this drug what will happen to you. The info tells me you could have a stroke if you stop this medication? Is this true

Elderly mother unable to take lasix and aldactone - Now what?
Good morning to all. I have been on this board for a while now and have indicated that my mother has chf, aortic stenosis and mitro-valve regurgitation - moderate stages. She also has afib and tachycardia. She has a pacemaker for 8 yrs for syncope. She is on metroplol, Eliquis, lyvoxal for thyroid

Blood Thinners (Just kidding BobD) - Anticoagulants and Pain Management
I am wondering what those living on anticoagulants do to manage pain. It seems most OTC pain medicines are contraindicated when on anticoagulants. I have been pestering my doctor to take me off Eliquis so I can take Ibuprofen again (dealing with sever lower back pain at the moment) but BobD, CD and some

Ablation - Second Procedure
Greetings All, I had my second Ablation on Tuesday, April 30 in NYC. Home now and feeling tired, sore and a little beaten up. Doctor thinks it all went well and rest and time will tell. I was much stronger and more prepared mentally and physically this time. Please if anyone is hesitating about the procedure

first major health problem
I just got out of the hospital. I had pulmonary embolism. I am taking blood thinner Eliquis. I am now on the road to recovery. This is the first major health issue I ever had. It was my stay at a hospital ever. I am 52 years old.

Peppermint oil
I just wanted to share that I have benefitted from using a roll on peppermint oil when I first start to feel the migraine starting. I also keep it with me when I am in a public location and someone has really strong perfume on, I roll it on my hand then I can smell the scent and breath good air. I never

Peppermint Oil Capsules
Bit of a random post, but we all know our RA meds can some time play havoc with our tummies. I have been taking Peppermint oil gel capsules and they seem to be doing me the world of good! No iffy tummy! Thought I would share! I knew they are also good for digestion and if you suffer with IBS.

Eliquis and bladder pain sensation?
Hey guys. So I’ve been on Eliquis for three months. I’ve noticed I have a bladder infection sensation feeling on and off. I’ve been tested for a uti multiple times and all negative. I was wondering if anyone else has that same side effect? Constant urge to go. Feels like uti but it. Also feels like my

What can I expect with Afib?
I'm not competing for the biggest doofus with Afib but I have questions. Is standing up and nearly passing out part of the deal? I am so tired all the time. I can't stand up to cook a meal without sitting down and doing it. I am sure I've had Afib for years. Before the found it and the blood clot in

Peppermint Oil stinging urine
Hi, wondering if anyone else has experienced burning/stinging after urination when taking peppermint oil tablets? It feels exactly like that minty kinda burn (like when you get the Original Source mint shower gel on your nethers accidentally)

I have decided to take anticoagulants, I am worried of how my body will respond
I finally after 3 years of resisting taking anticoagulants decided to take Eliquis which my ET recommended. I am worried about side effects, brain bleeds and long term health. I live in the US where anticoagulants are not the first choice of treatment for Afib. I am in good health other than Afib, 71

Related to Anticoagulants
Hello all, this is my first post and have learned alot from others here. My question seems basic and one could wonder why I have not received a good answer. I have had intermittent AF for 25 years. For the most part, it has been controlled by meds, several over the years. With a few exceptions conversion

AFIB Return
After 1.5 years of being afib free after ablation I recently had several episodes of afib. They lasted a little over an hour a day apart. Then went a month afib free and had another short episode on Saturday. Luckily I was scheduled for annual appt with my EP within 2 weeks of first episodes. I caught

2nd Ablation recommendation
Hi all, I haven’t posted since first ablation in November. I was doing well going off Flecanaide in January and hoping I would stay in NSR for years to come. I stayed on Eliquis which I agreed would be for life as I’m 69 years old. Unfortunately when I thought I was done with the beast it rested its

I went private 4 months ago now, the doctor diagnosed me with endometriosis when I had an operation on the 22nd January however, in the first consultation he told me that the tablets I had been taking for the pain (that my gp prescribed me) were making it all worse in the long run, I was on zapain, I

Anxiety meds and A-Fib
What anxiety meds are good to take with A-Fib? I am on Multaq (dronedarone), Losartan, Eliquis, hydrochlorothiazide, metroprolol. I am in US and this is my first post although I read all your posts everyday for years now and have learned so much! My internist had suggested a anxiety med last time I

Are laxatives really so bad?
So fed up! I seemed to have cracked it with ibs c a couple of months ago. I thought peppermint oil capsules were a god send and i have been normal in that time till the last 2 weeks where i have slowed down with 'going' again and bloated up badly. It seems something works for a bit then stops. Don't
