AFIB Return

After 1.5 years of being afib free after ablation I recently had several episodes of afib. They lasted a little over an hour a day apart. Then went a month afib free and had another short episode on Saturday.

Luckily I was scheduled for annual appt with my EP within 2 weeks of first episodes.

I caught the activity on my Kardia to confirm the afib. EP states reconnection of some points previously ablated and put me back on eliquis.

I was hoping for a 1 and done ablation but it didn't happen.

I am scheduled for a redo ablation Wednesday morning.

Wish me luck!

All the best perkman, not an unusual situation and a quick redo ablation is good route to take....

can i ask if you're an alcohol drinker?

Was it a trigger pre first ablation?

And if so have you had the odd drink since?

Cheers,

marcus

Alcohol is a trigger for me as is caffeine. I have an occasional light beer. 2 at the most anymore.

can I ask how often?

once a week or less?

And have you given up coffee?

(Coffee seems to be no problem for me, but not 100% sure, alcohol is but Im 6 weeks post 2nd ablation and just wondering what risk take with these things!)

looking to have 3 standard drinks per week (down from 25!)

Cheers,

Marcus

Once a week would be ok but why not just give it up? The days of getting a buzz need to be gone.

Good Luck

Will definitely give it up if 1-2 a weeks still affects, but if not would still be good.

So you have 2 lights per week?

ill you continue that or are you going to give it away altogether now?

I no longer drink alcohol.

I do wish you luck! How discouraging to find you must have another ablation. I hope this one takes care of the outliers & you can be afib free again.
