I was diagnosed with afib only one time during a routine checkup. It was never found again. I even bought an afib detector that I test myself 3x a day. I have never had any symptoms. With that said, I realize afib is a progressive type of issue. In view that I have great cholesterol numbers and nothing

Things I do to combat migraine.
Hi there, After reading on my news feed recently about a lady who suffers from migraine for up to six weeks at a time, I felt moved to write to the Migraine Trust, in the hope that sharing my own remedies and the preventative actions I have taken to avoid migraine myself, might help her and possibly

Eliquis
Today I saw a new TV commercial for Eliquis. (Unfortunately we in the USA are bombarded with TV ads for every pharma drug in the universe. 🙄) This commercial was the 1st one that stated that Eliquis is a blood thinner. Not an anticoagulant. A blood thinner. Many on the forum have reiterated at different

How long usually after my burr hole surgery (on 28/6/21) for a sub dural hematoma before I can resume blood thinners for my A Fib?
I have A Fib, although I believe it is "mild" (only 2-3 episodes in almost two years) and was on Eliquis which was discontinued for the (chronic) sdh surgery. Head taking its time to heal, with a recurrence of areas of acute hemorrhage detected by a CT scan on 23/7/21. The sdh took six weeks to be

Afib
Have others with ET had AFib? I haven’t noticed any posts about it. I am now taking Eliquis and 75 mg of Metropolol. I am waiting to see an electrophysiologist to have an ablation. Can’t wait as AFib is no fun and the drugs for it on top of Hydroxyurea make me feel like a zombie!! As always thank

Pulmonary embolism Treatment
Hi I’ve been diagnosed with APS as a result of having clots in the lungs (Pulmonary embolism). Current treatment is Apixaban (Eliquis) 5 mg tablet morning and night on going. I have been advised by my specialist that Eliquis may not be as effective as Warfarin. Was wondering if anyone had similar symptoms

Doctor checkup yesterday
After being forgotten in the exam room ...1 hour later nurse had to locate the doctor, who wasn't even in the building...... anyway, found that my echo and blood work to be very good. I was told...and I kind of thought this as well, that what I was feeling in my chest were pvcs...not Afib. Not concerned

Atenolol . . . Are there any AFers still on it?
I have been taking 25 mg a day of atenolol for the past 20 years for HBP and now with AF for rate control. I understand it's less heart specific than some other beta blockers, but it seems to work for me. And my cardiologist is comfortable keeping me on it. I'm in permanent AF, QOL is great and I

High heart rate post-ablation
I had a cardiac ablation for both AF and flutter 4 weeks ago. Recovery has been pretty smooth; one episode at 10 days where i had a heart rate of like 150 bpm for 4 hours, but it settled on its own. at 2 week check-up, EKG showed no sign of AF, but some flutter. my EP added amioderone to the metropolol

Lack of appetite and sour stomach
Hello everyone, I am currently going through something strange. I have periods where food is unappealing to me. When I try to eat, I just cannot do it. Yesterday I was able to have a protein powder smoothie with almond milk, banana, strawberries, and blueberries. Then at lunch I was barely able to

Switching from Eliquis to a one a day 325mg Aspirin
Hi guys, just curious, Has anybody been on Eliquis and then changed to one aspirin 325 mg a day instead? I was diagnosed with Afib in 2018 but have maybe one episode a year so my Dr. told me to switch from Eliquis to one 325mg aspirin a day. I am concerned that the aspirin won’t thin my blood enough

Eliquis
It is exactly a year since I had my RF ablation. I was lucky, haven't had a single episode of AF since. On Wednesday I saw a surgeon about my hip and I will have hip replacement surgery in about 3-4 months. He said we wouldn't meet again until the day of the operation. Afterwards, I realised that

Random sternum chest pain and hoarseness after converting
Hello All, I was in an AFib event lasting 8 days early May. On the 3rd day I was given EKG and put on Eliquis and 50mg Metoprolol by my Primary. My HR was erratic and averaged 126 on EKG prior to medication. After medication it was averaging 115 at rest and lower at night sleeping (probably 80-110).

Crazy cost of drugs in USA
Cost of Eliquis in USA for one months supply, that’s 370 pounds for my English friends, think I’ll stick with Natokinase

I was diagnosed with paroxysmal Afib about two years ago. I am taking propafenone and Eliquis. The propafenone has worked the best. I have been taking it since January. I have had three episodes in that time. It has lengthened the the time between episodes and the length of the episode. My "normal
