Hi there, could anybody assist me in helping me find a support group.I have

Back in the 'tens'
Back in the 'tens'. I began to despair I would ever see those words! It has been eighteen months if hard effort to lose one and a half stone. Another half to go. Admittedly it is very marginally into the tens - 10st 13.5lbs. But it feels like winning the pools! (And doesn't that show my age -

Cranial nerve blocks ( steroids injections) causing an elevated INR?
1. Just out of hospital last week for a major DVT ( arm) with low INR ( 1.9, 2.2 , etc) with accompanying migraines 2. Migraines are suspected Hemi crania continua - fits the bill pretty well and linked to APS 3. Two days ago I received 24 injections into skull of steroids- cranial nerve blocks for pain

Viral Meningitis
Hi, I am a 34 year old male who has just had VM for the last 7 days. I feel completely lost and do not know what to expect or how to react or what to do. I've had the Lumbar which confirmed cells were well over 3000! CT scan and ECG have all come back good but I've noticed that over the last few days

I've not posted for a while as my super-slow weight loss is soooo boring. However, I'm doing a little dance this morning as I weighed in at 10st 13lbs.... just 8lbs to go!...mind you at this rate it might take another four months (sigh). I'd like to get there by the end of August when I'm off to the

Unbearable sciatica pain
I am not sure when or how my herniated disks started as I've been dealing with pain for almost two years now but this year my pain has become much worse. Last year in November I had an MRI that showed that I have a herniated disk in my L4 , L5. This year I developed sciatica that's been going on for

Bowel pain / codeine
Hi - I feel like I'm stuck going in circles. For info - endo diagnosis 2012 by laparoscopy. Endo found on bowels. I am getting nasty bowel pains really often now for a few months. I take paracetamol & codeine (only 15 / 30mg 2-3 x day) and I have lactulose to keep things moving and it works fine. I

Interesting reading about vagus nerve stimulation
Perhaps really a treatment for RA in the near future. Has anyone knowledge about this form of treatment in Europe?https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-athletes-way/201607/vagus-nerve-stimulation-dramatically-reduces-inflammation

Shingles
Is it true that if you are taking or have taken high dosage of steroids you are at risk of catching shingles from contact with chicken pox?

Lyme disease-help groups?
Hi, I know there are quite a few folk on here who suffer with Lymes Disease and I was wondering if there is a forum on health unlocked specifically for sufferers or any other online help groups? I'm not asking for myself but for a family member. Thanks in advance Nat x

Wrist denervation - anybody experienced this?
I have osteoarthritis in my left wrist, pain started November 2015 and due for surgery 2/6/17. I am having wrist denervation done to ease the pain, despite the nerve block failing in October 2016. Has anyone experienced this procedure? I'm getting a local anaesthetic to save waiting an extra 4 weeks

Shingles post FCR
I finished FCR about 9 weeks ago and was beginning to feel better and thinking about a return date for work when the dreaded shingles struck. I'd just stopped taking the antiviral meds about three weeks before. It's been 9 days now since the rash appeared and the pain has actually gotten worse in the

weekly update
hi all, just me checking in with my weekly update. The past couple of days have been very easy - weirdly easy, almost like a calm before the storm. I assume my bad days will become a bit fewer and further between which is good. I am finding throughout the day I have forgot about cigarettes. feels

Falling, Cont'd
I had surgery Monday morning to wire my elbow back together after my fall. For the first 24 hours they used a nerve block because it's such a painful surgery and that was mighty mighty creepy. It felt like I had somebody else's arm and hand attached to me. Warm but no feeling. The worst of the pain fortunately
