Advice on halting bone loss following Dexa and hrt or other supplements.
Thyroid cancer at 23, high dose T4 requiring propranolol for 17 years, then battles over dosage post menopause as rules changed. T3, when measured, always seemed to be at a good level. I didn't take HRT as it was at the height of the cancer scare. I regret it now. Sjogrens and very low vitamin D diagnosed

Does Afib have a connection with Hyperparathyroidism
I've had AF for 20 years .2 .5 years ago I had blood tests for Calcium and PTH after breaking a wrist chopping down Olive trees. I was diognosed with Hyperparathyroidism as the calcium was high and the PTH high as well as a dexa scan showing osteopenia, following this I had to have a couple of stents

Help! Doctor has refused my Pred repeat request.
I started on 20 mg of Prednisolone 6 years ago, and after several failed attempts to get lower, have remained at 5mg daily for a year now. After the (enjoyable!) stress of my 90th birthday party a few days ago, I got the old familiar Polymyalgia shoulder ache, so I took an extra 5mg for 5 days and

Autoimmune thyroiditis with lump in throat as first symptom and normal thyroid levels - medication necessary?
I was diagnosed with autoimmune thyroiditis last month after a neck and thyroid ultrasound. I went to the doctor initially as have had a constant lump in my throat since June andbwas worried about throat cancer (I am 44 and haven't smoked since my early 20s but my dad had throat cancer). This hasn't

Help for appointment.
Hi, I have my first actual face to face appointment with my Endo on Tuesday next week since lock down. I had written to him a few months back to say I wasn't feeling particularly great, and I pointed out my just in range T4 and said I think I would benefit with an increase in my Levothyroxine and maybe

GP won't diagnose despite abnormal test results, what should I do next?
OK, so I've been feeling awful since Oct/Nov last year, I have so many hypothyroid symptoms (its like going down the tick list saying yes, yes, yes), but it's got to the point where I'm now working half my normal hours because my fatigue is so bad, I have awful brain fog and I have pain in my muscles

Happy Days are here again - PSA post IMRT
Hey y'all, I had labs done at AIS as I was there for a post op check after the 28 IMRTs. T under 10 and PSA dropped again from 5.2 to
3.89

but I normally go thru Kaiser and this was Quest Labs. I think Kaiser sends out PSA to another lab. This PSA is the lowest in a year PTH

PTH and aggressive PCa? I need guidance
Hello, everyone! I can really use some guidance. My husband’s PTH (Parathyroid hormone) has been elevated since his Dx (pre & post treatments) Being that his blood calcium is at normal levels, his MO ruled out Secondary Hyperparathyroidism, and moved on. But that never sat right with me. Why the elevated

Disrupted sleep with increased T4
Hello dear Thyroid UK, I had thyroid cancer in August 2021 with part of my thyroid and a parathyroid removed. Since then, I've been trying to get an ideal dose of Levothyroxine T4. I did take a very low dose of T3 (Cytomel) briefly. I felt great alert-wise but experienced headaches, nausea and anxiety

Treatment changes - Rituximab?
Finally saw my consultant again last week. Think he was quite surprised at how swollen my hands have become and he said I'd done well to keep going. So am feeling a little more positive, though I'm battling through a lot of pain. The steroid jabs I had in my finger and thumb base seem to have given

Dry eye following Trabeculectomy
Hello I had a right trabeculectomy nearly 4 months ago & all was well until about a week ago. I have used regular lubricating drops as I have had the same surgery in my left eye that was complicated by uveitis. I have tried a variety of lubricating drops & eventually Theoloz gel was recommended & worked
