Paracetamol

I took paracetamol which, to be honest, didn't do much so took myself off to bed. This morning I feel the same so I have just taken an extra 3mg of pred.....my dose is 5mg.....now I wait and see!!! I'd like to get my hands on the person who said this usually only lasts 2 years!!!

Suggested I take up to 4g of Paracetamol if necessary. Just read of NHS site that Naproxine and Pred are not compatible. Is this true for short time use? If so what can I ask for instead.

i don’t take any meds for Fibro, can only tolerate paracetamol for pain relief (which doesn’t really do a lot for me) My cardiologist started me on a new medication, Flecainide 50mg 2 x day, to help regulate my heart rythym and help control the af.

Windeze (simeticone) is no use (only paracetamol does anything) , I try to follow FODMAP diet and am really struggling to work out where it comes from. Was it the foolish spoonful of peas, was there too much wheat in the bread and so on?

This is day 9 and I’m still knocking back paracetamol like they’re smarties. I’ve still got some suspended orb of pain that’s roaming around my front lobe like ball lightning, and I’ve still got that rash. Although that may be unrelated. I had my first day back at work yesterday.

Paracetamol doesn't touch it, though I do have some response to NSAIDs, but nowhere near the relief I get from pred. Does that make sense and have I missed anything out, do you think?

I took a naproxen (with a stomach saver) this morning and have just taken a couple of paracetamol so I’m hoping a few days of pill popping might see it off. My question is: is this likely to be a a pulled muscle or trapped nerve (I’m susceptible to those!) or could it be a flare???

Nothing could touch the (now severe) pain, head, arms, wrists, fatigue - paracetamol, Ibuprofen, sumatriptan, codeine etc were all useless. I didn't want to mention it to my wife for obvious reasons.

I was taking up to 8 paracetamol a day, waking up at3,4,5 am with headache and reaching for paracetamol, now I get a good 7/8 hours sleep nightly and don’t wake up with headaches. I would recommend these but always speak with your doctors 😁 https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/nortriptyline/

I continue to have badly blocked ears and a runny nose for several weeks. I’ve only managed to see paramedics rather than a GP about it. 5 30 pm on a sunday cant ring dentist till 9am tomorrow ,taking paracetomol every 4 hours ,it helps a bit ,cant take ibroprofen so its paracetomol ,5 days on metronudazole and it worked untill the 5days dose was up ,what can i do ...most other antibiitics im not aloud ,help please !

I've also been given the okay to use orajel but I feel taking all this is loads as I'm taking paracetamol also and using a cold compress. The tooth is cracked as it's been ongoing for months but not this bad and only ever lasted a day I've had this for 3 days and barely sleeping due to the pain.

to post an update and share what I'm doing with my diet: I was diagnosed on 20th October 2023, put on 15mg Pred, 1 month later reduced to 12.5mg then Saturday 16th Dec reduced to 10mg, at first all the pain and stiffness reappeared and I was gutted but it was "only" 6/10 and after taking 1 x 500mg Paracetamol

I have recommended using small doses of Paracetamol/Acetominophen to potentiate an opioid if it is being compromised by a trigger. This works well. However-- I have a cautionary tale to relate. I had a few molar tooth extractions recently and took extra paracetamol to relieve the pain.

The best he has to offer is keep taking the codine and paracetamol daily exercises might help. Oh and I'll have a telephone consultation in 3 months. Surely I can't be the only person with my particular set of spanners in the works /issues. Any advise is greatly appreciated

She was now taking 8 paracetamol per day aswell. My mum increased her prednisone from 10mg to 12.5mg, but 24 hours there was no change & it was now Christmas eve and not wanting to be in such pain over Christmas I convinced her to increase to 15mg on Christmas Eve morning.

However, when I started my first FET, my clinic told me sumatriptan was not suitable for pregnancy and I should only take paracetamol and if really needed, dihidrocodeine if a migraine came on. I didn’t think this would be an issue as I don’t get them too often and I had planned on taking time off.
