Daughter and full time carer for my mum who has Liver cirrhosis, ascites and varices in her oesophagus....
A month back we were referred to the
palliative
care
team and things were serious now it's like she is fine. I'm not complaining at all but from a month ago them telling me from here her health will deteriorate to mum up and about like normal, I'm confused.

Need ideas post Xtandi and Zytiga
Also he’s a
palliative
care
specialist and medical director for a hospice. He offered that help which we will eventually need.

Anyone not following LCHF
Is it just me? It is clear that not everyone on this site is following the same diet; there are maintainers and there are dieters following different guidelines to maintain or lose weight. Yet, I am left with the feeling that if I do not support and adhere to a LCHF diet, then I am …. I am not quite

Are we nearing the end?
We did finally get
palliative
in home
care
and she just recently underwent the procedure to get a feeding tube and tracheostomy as she has full paralysis of her throat as she was extremely malnourished from inability to eat.

Veyonda: A drug to stop COVID 19???
NOX offered my late brother compassionate access to Veyonda during his time in
palliative
care
. Sadly, his MO team wouldn't allow it, and thus made certain his death. I suspect that NOX will offer their drug on compassionate grounds whilst they are progressing its approval via the FDA.

Association Between Dihydrotestosterone and Long-Term Risk for PCa Mortality
New study below [1]. To skip the preamble, read below "***". Ever since Huggins discovered that castration offered palliation for men with PCa, albeit temporary, there has been a belief that testosterone [T[ acts like gasoline on a fire. A number of study papers have appeared over the past 15 years

Disappointed
Three weeks ago after discovering this site , I started on the lchf diet . I was elated when I quickly lost almost 2.3 kg . However weight loss has now skidded to a halt and to top it all I’m having trouble with constipation which is making me miserable . Anybody got any ideas ?

Is the chicken-off still going? Buffalo Wings....
I am just enjoying buffalo wings. That's fried or - in my case - baked chicken wings tossed in butter/chilli sauce, accompanied by a blue cheese dressing. Today, that is a Shropshire Stilton dressing 😋. With traditional celery and a tray of baked veggies, because if I am turning on the oven in this

End stage COPD palliative care
My Dad has end stage COPD and is now being treated at home as
palliative
care
. I just don't know what to expect and I think that's what I'm struggling with. Dad's oxygen sats are currently 77-81% with no oxygen.

1916 - Ann - (aka Liz)
I was lucky I managed nearly 2 years NED, but Liz moved on through up to 5th line treatment, but she battled through with such, positivity, strength, poise and grace, she was a force to be reckoned with A few weeks ago she told me she had been moved onto
palliative
care
, ironically it was the same week

Cast adrift
I am confused about my
care
plan. Is this what they call
palliative
care
? Except for exhaustion, loss of appetite, nausea and muscle wastage I do quite well. Your thoughts on this would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance, Jacquie

Status update
I am now on
Palliative
care
only. A summary of my treatment since diagnosis in 1999 is in my profile. I hope it is helpful to others recently diagnosed as to what the future may hold.

NASH to CIRRHOSIS to HCC
Once I get the diagnosis of HCC confirmed, (and because of my current health problems and severe limitations), I can then plan things for end of life
care
. I have already asked her for a referral to
Palliative
Care
but my GP is procrastinating on that one.

In focus: complementary therapies - acupuncture
Some NHS hospitals and clinics offer acupuncture, sometimes through their
palliative
care
team. It may also be covered by private medical insurance. Many hospices and cancer centres also offer acupuncture free of charge.
