Hi everyone This is not something that I ever thought I would be announcing to the world, but know enough about this site to know that we all feel able to talk about the most of intimate of subjects. When I was diagnosed with OC (3b) I had not had any symptoms. I now recall that for a year or eighteen

Avastin and steroids
Hi ladies To day I asked my oncologist to stop cortisone but he refused. I take Avastin infusions every 3 weeks for maintenance. Does anyone do Avastin without steroids? If so what side effects do you get? I blame steroids for the 20lbs that I've gained during the last 10 months. ... of course along

Back 😕😡
So the avastin has not worked and I'm starting carbo/caylex tomorrow. I'm clearly not looking forward to this and have been advised by a friend to look into immunotherapy. A non toxic way of getting rid of cancer. I have done a little Google research and found that it's very expensive not available

Last chemo.
Hi warriors. Had my last chemo yesterday. Been having it (with half way debulking) since July last year. It's finally done. Feels a bit strange. Like that's that. I still go back for avastin, still have blood tests and I've a scan in early Feb. Bit of scanxiety. I feel happy but worried. Guess that's

Avastin - Blood Pressure Update - Frustrated: Want a Fix Yesterday - LOL
Hi, Just giving one an update and if you would like, feel free to chime in and add your opinion. So a few weeks ago I posted that I received my second dose of Avastin and it, apparently, shot my BP up. I have never had BP issues before in my life!! I have taken atenenol 25 mg (beta blocker) for 20

Pain in the neck
I've just completed 6 cycles of Avastin- taxol-Carboplatin followed by 2 cycles of Avastin - taxol. Waiting for scan results to decide on maintenance. I've been experiencing pain in the neck right below my ear for the last two months which the oncologist has been ignoring. I'm scared that the cancer

Here we go again !
Good evening ladies. This condition causes continuous worry, doesn't it? About a month ago I posted re UTI's that I kept getting. At the time, I was sure these were caused by Avastin. It turns out that these episode are not urine infections, as although I experience the need to urinate every 15 mins

Avastin - Is This a Side Effect!!!!!
Last week I learned Avastin increased my pressure. Now we're playing lets get the blood pressure under control. During that time, I had what I thought was a sinus infection and took z/pack. I'm thinking now it's not sinus but avastin. My throat is dry, my nose is now dry, the horrific headache for two

Avastin and protein in urine
Hello ladies Anyone suffered from high protein levels on urine? What are the symptoms? My oncologist never checked my urine because he was more concerned about kidney function blood tests. I've been pressurising him to check protein levels because I have been having bubbly urine. Also for how long can

Avastin and Your Blood Pressure - Up, Up and Away!!!!
Hello everybody, Here to get some feedback. Apparently, Avastin raises your blood pressure!! My infusion nurse explained that this is pretty much expected with the majority of patients who go on it even if you never had blood pressure issues! So prior to treatment yesterday, they brought it down

Very disappointing visit today, possible PDT treatment and switch to avastin
Hello, I truly biopsy that everyone is doing well. I had new visual changes with increased waviness out of my right eye, and things looked much worse on my OCT scan. I'm being sent to another Retina specialist on Friday. The discussion was whether I am no longer responding to Eylea and we either

Impulsive
I've always been impulsive (or impatient lol) but yesterday I shocked myself. I was enjoying my last day in New York and haven't felt particularly well with Avastin affecting my joints and throat. I passed a hairdressers and said to my partner.....I'm going in and going to get my hair cut and coloured

Thankyou
It was last Christmas that I had a small bloodstain on my underwear (on just 1 occasion) so after the holiday, I made an appointment with my GP. What followed, is as they say, history. I had a hysterectomy, chemo and am now on Avastin. A year on, I am still here getting on with it, and you have all been

Bitter or not
Hi Ladies I really have been feeling a bit down over the last week and it does come and go but this time seems moreso (had Avastin a week ago No. 14). I can't quite put my finger on it and whether it's coming to the end of the year - I had my surgery on 29th December 2015 - it just seems so much has

What does stable actually mean?
Hi all, first post here. My mom was diagnosed in the summer with 3b initially and then 3c OC. She had some dissemation on the peritoneum. We were lead to believe that all of her cancer from the ovary was removed during surgery (hysterectomy) but due to the small size and wide spread of the dissenation

Scared about chemo effects, and the future...
Hi, this is my first post since finding this forum. I have Stage IV high grade serous primary peritoneal or fallopian tube cancer, discovered when I presented with Pleural Effusion. I've posted a few comments on other's posts but not written my own. Since my diagnosis in October, I've just trusted in

Feeling low -Is it the time of year??
Hello all After feeling quite smug that I had retained a positive outlook I am now in the doldrums...........I'm due to have 5th chemo in second line next Thursday (22nd) and I know that I will be feeling rubbish over the Christmas period - this chemo (Carbo/Cyclophosphamide + Avastin) is knocking me
