Oncology Appointment
We made it to oncology today, after finding out the cancer is back on Friday. Recent CA125 came back at 288 (3 months ago it was 15) - so it gave us a good indication of what was going on. The fluid came back with cancer cells in it; however, nothing could be drawn from the CT so likely it's seeding

Big pharma and cancer
Saw this interesting post on immunotherapy in the Financial Times in the waiting room. Go to ft.com/pharmaceuticals There was also an article: « Drugmakers take an unorthodox route to cancer biosimilars » about the NHS buying Chinese biosimilar version, which they call « copycat » of Rituximab, Trastuzumab

It's back.
Mom started to feel unwell last weekend - after experiencing stomach pains and muscle spams. Oncology office scheduled an emergency appointment for Tuesday with the doctor himself (rather than the PA). Doc did mention it could be chemo related stomach problems (which he was going to refer her to a specialist

CA 125
Hi I had my last chemotherapy during the week my CA 125 levels started at 1000 last December and last week after the 5th session it had only dropped to 181, I had 6 sessions of chemo and awaiting CT scan now. It doesn't look like they will drop to normal levels the plan is avastin if the ct scan is good

12 chemos and 1 Avastin treatment CA125 numbers up
Hey, a little down today. I had 4 carbo/taxol treatments before surgery and 7 treatments after surgery. I had one carbo/taxatere and Avastin treatment. Different docs said I had too much toxic chemo and I had one Avastin only treatment. My CA -125 numbers were 2247 when diagnosed, went down to 350 after

Spend, spend, spend??
Hi Everyone, I probably know the answer to this dilemma already but could never discuss this with other people except people who would understand..... Interlinked health, death and money are too personal/vulgar subjects to air properly even with my closest because they just say "do what makes you happy

Ca 125
Hello all, Hope you are doing well. After 6 rounds of chemo (no surgery), ca 125 is at 120 for my aunt. They are continuing one more round of chemo and then Avastin only. With such high ca-125, is a long period of recurrence unlikely?

Smear test
They suggested I use the
ovestin
cream to plump up the cells. This is an oestrogen cream an as we all know oestrogen dominance causes endometriosis. Just wondered what others have done about smear tests. Thanks

Cannabis oil information - handy website - my germ war....
Hi girls. Hope we are all as well as we can be. Thankfully my terminal flu has decided to move over and let the beast take the lead again. I can't afford the amount of toilet rolls I was getting through every day with mucous membranes vomiting up from all facial exit points. The photo is how I imagined

Avastin
I am new here. Ovarian cancer Stage 4, inoperable. After completing one line of Taxol/Carbo I am now on just Avastin every three weeks. Would like any advice on supplements to take with tis, or any to avoid. I heard that it causes joint pain for many ... anything I can do to prevent this?

Avastin and cold symptoms
Hi I have been on Doxil/Avastin for 2 cycles. It really seemed to be working well but then I developed the hand/foot syndrome !! This was pretty bad. Thank god I am over that (for the most part) and now I’m just on Avastin IV. My question is I have had a cold on and off since I have been on Avastin

Side Effects of Carbo/Gemzar/Avastin
Hello all. I am starting these three on Monday. I am trying to get an idea of how bad the side effects will be. I work full-time and trying to figure out what I will or won’t be able to do. Also, how long after is Avastin given for maintenance? Thank you everyone.
