Diagnosed with osteopenia in 2019--progressed to osteoporosis in my spine in 2023 --my gp had me try Fosomax in 2019 but after a few months experienced trouble swallowing so went off of it. Tried to just use vitamins but did not do it correctly or as I should have. I am against the meds after every thing I have read but after talking to a friend who has had many issues and many different meds, decided to try Risedronate and started it March 1st. No side effects except a little upset stomach. I am religiously taking caltrate twice a day with k2 and magnesium before bed. I also take coq10 for heart health as I have high blood pressure and have family history of both heart issues and breast cancer. I am walking on my treadmill every day and doing weight bearing exercise three times a week.
Has anyone had success with Risedronate..my goal is to stop the progression--not sure how much you can reverse it--and wonder how many people have been on different meds after they come off one. My sister, who had breast cancer, is on recast and had an infusion in Nov of 22 and so far no side effects. Has her next infusion in Oct of this year.
Would love to hear how Risedronate worked or did not work. If I have side effects I will stop it. Just worry about spinal breaks and being a burden someday on my family.
