Was wondering if anyone else has experienced hair loss, I was diagnosed with PBC last August and AIH in October, also have osteopenia. I lost over a stone in quite a short period of time and this has stayed off. Now 8 months on I’m losing huge amounts of hair, which I’m finding hard to cope with. Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks

I was dx'd and started URSO 2 years ago... over the last year I've had really noticeable hair thinning.. ( luckily I did start out with thick head of hair). Could be a side effect of meds?
It seems to be one of those things that's hard to pin point the cause- I am on levothyroxine (synthroid) too because I had thyroidectomy in 2010. So I thought hair thinning might be because my TSH levels have been fluctuating the last two years too..
and I'm 65 and people tell me that hair thinning is not uncommon with aging. I hear you-- it's very disconcerting to find piles of hair on the hair brush everyday.. 🙁
Hello I was diagnosed with PBC in October and started on Urso which is doing its job apparently. About February time my hair started to fall out in handfuls, very distressing. Hair goes in 3 month cycles and can go into shock with new meds or anxiety of a diagnosis like this. Hopefully in a few months it'll settle down and you'll notice new hair growth. It has now stopped happening for me now although my hair is much thinner than it was. You can get good shampoos that do help. I use Nioxin which makes it feel thicker. 😊
Yes my hair is thinning. I have been on URSO 12 years but have recently been prescribed rifampicin sertraline and cholestyramine. This cocktail seems to have increased the loss of what was always thin fine hair. Add in my age and my hair is very thin.
My hair has also thinned. I have been on Urso since January 2018 and I also take synthroid for my thyroid. I take 3 capsules 300mg each all at once after dinner. Also my synthroid we increased and as a result I am not sure what has caused the thinning.
