GRAVES AND THYROTOXICOSIS : SKELETON AND CALCIUM METABOLISM
Bone turnover can be reduced by pamidronate and by calcitonin, which may therefore have a useful role in reducing thyrotoxicosis-induced
osteopenia
[320-321]. Two exceptional cases have been reported with coincident thyrotoxicosis and hypercalcemia with elevated PTH levels.

Confused about best vitamins for osteopenia
Hi all, please see also my post at: https://healthunlocked.com/bonehealth/posts/140686583/just-joined On the advice of HeronNS I decided to go off Prolia (after 1 injection) and to try the Vitamin route with increased exercise. I was already taking Vitamin D 2000 - 3000 I.U./day and calcium carbonate

The big decision
(Knocked over with some force by a large, boisterous Labrador) Scan results head of femur-2.5 rest of hip readings in
osteopenia
range spine -3 L1-4 all show osteoporosis Needless to say, I have been strongly advised to start on Alendronic Acid straight away.

Levothyroxine/ Liothyronine + Osteoporosis
A recent DEXA scan showed
Osteopenia
and now I am considering cutting out Liothyronine to prevent Osteoporosis. I cut down my dose of Liothyronine to 12.5mg for a few days but my symptoms are returning - tiredness, knee pain, brain fog etc.

Radium-223 in Clinical Practice. Video
It is known that androgen deprivation therapy accelerates
osteopenia
and osteoporosis, and that abiraterone use further suppresses androgen levels. Would a DEXA scan at baseline have revealed imbalances in baseline bone-health status between the two groups?

PROLIA prescribed - what to expect?
My Lupron/Zytiga/Prednisone therapy has apparently brought about
osteopenia
in lumbar spine and hips, and osteoporosis in my femoral neck. My MO wants to put me on Prolia to combat the bone loss. A few questions for those who have gone on Prolia: 1. What is the delivery method? 2.

Prolia and Parathyroidectomy
My wife is T2 diabetic, hypothyroid and was diagnosed with
osteopenia
in 2014. She started on Prolia in 2014. We are at year six so injection # 12 coming up. I have read that Prolia reduces calcium from the the blood and bones.

and many symptoms that have developed.

Osteopenia help needed
Osteopenia
developed after I cut dairy for 2 years. Help on how to improve density significantly without the supposedly harmful calcium supplements, dairy, omega-3's etc. that have been otherwise recommended? I do weight bearing exercise but always have, so not enough.

Osteoporosis medication and RA
Hi I've just been told my
osteopenia
has progressed to osteoporosis - despite taking lots of Vit D and a bone strengthening HRT for the past 9 years! 🙄 I'm due to start alendronic acid and a calcium supplement next week and just wondering if anyone has experience of taking these with MXT (15ml).

PMR and Osteoporosis
I'd had
osteopenia
before that. I know that pred steals calcium from bones, but at the low doses that I am currently on, does that continue? I really don't want to take any drugs, and am doing a lot of weight bearing exercises right now.
