Reducing organ transplant side-effects
A new research project aims to use personalised anti-rejection medication to reduce the health risks that organ transplant patients experience following surgery. THIRD SHOT BEING RECOMMENDED BY CDC FOR IMMUNOCOMPROMISED
As a follow up to my post last week about getting a third shot, news stories caught my eye yesterday that I thought I'd pass on. As a precursor to some who missed my first post, I took it on my own to get a third shot without authorization. Now it appears that the government in the US is likely to

Immune Compromised Patients May Get 3rd Vaccination
I mentioned this story in a reply I just made to a different Post, and decided it was too important a story to leave only in that reply. So I'm now posting about it. In essence my blood test at Quest Labs to see if my two vaccine shots resulted in any antibodies came back "NONE" I've been a little

CDC advisers to consider additional coronavirus dose for immunocompromised patients. Meeting scheduled for July 22
A federal advisory panel is expected next week to consider whether health-care workers should be allowed to give additional coronavirus shots to patients with fragile immune systems, even as top U.S. health officials have said an additional dose of vaccine is not widely needed. The prospect of booster

Hopefully, should be sorted soon
It's just a shame that I didn't visit the physio much earlier (I didn't because I thought it was minor bruising, then
organ
damage
then it seemed to clear up). So, I now need to do some exercising that doesn't twist my spine. Might try some swimming (although I haven't done that for years).

Immunocompromised? Why the COVID-19 vaccine might still protect you
COVID-19 vaccinations may not offer as much protection to people with compromised immune systems, but just how much appears to be driven by the type of underlying condition, new research suggests. 3rd dose vaccine
Just came across an interesting article stating the benefits of a 3rd vaccine shot given to organ transplant recipients . https://www.acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/L21-0282 In my limited understanding of the conclusions, it seemed to have resulted in a significant increase in antibody titers. Does anyone

A third dose of COVID-19 vaccine increased antibody levels in organ transplant recipients
The antibody response after 2 doses of an mRNA vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 is excellent in the general population, but the response is different in recipients of solid organ transplants. For example, we have found markedly attenuated antibody responses in transplant recipients after 2 doses of an mRNA

John Hopkins Medicine organ transplant/covid vaccine study results in mid March2021:few if any antibodies made
Curious if your transplant clinic or nephrologist contacted you about getting the covid vaccine. My spouse was told to get the Pfizer if he could get his hands on it where we live and he did and had both shots without problems. Mid March 2021 a study from John Hopkins medicine came out showing volunteers

Study indicates COVID-19 vaccines are safe for organ transplant patients.
