Xolair vs. Nucala (Omalizumab vs. Mepolizumab)
I just started Xolair (
Omalizumab
) but I'm already worried it might not be a good fit. I feel exhausted, have had insomnia for days (I hadn't realized histamines play such an important role in regulating the sleep cycle), and generally don't feel like myself.

Extreme Anxiety
I was diagnosed in 2010 with severe asthma and it became hard to control I would have steroids and antibiotics every 6 weeks so I became under the hospital and was started on Xolair (
Omalizumab
) injections which I have now been on for 5 years.

I’m waiting to hear if my asthma profile is a good match for
Omalizumab
then (if offered it) I’ll need to decide whether or not to take up the invitation. Wondering about two things: 1. Side-effects 2.

Anyone tried it and any horror stories? Iv been offered it but the only thing that's putting me off is reading people carry epipens with them? I don't want to do that. Anyway I have a appointment in 8 weeks to discuss. Thanks

I'm looking for preventative advice to minimise asthma related problems and infections.... can you help?
Whilst in hospital a fellow asthma sufferer told me about "
Omalizumab
". Has anyone else tried this? Or can anyone recommend any other preventative treatment available which has proved successful.

New injection Mepolizumab (Nucala)
Hi All, I started on the new injection today Mepolizumab (Nucala), they stopped the
Omalizumab
(Xolair) in March, I was lucky not to have any exacerbations while not having the jabs, so I hope this is going to give me some relief and normality back.

HUVS and Xolair (omalizumab)
After trying out antihistamines, plaquenil, corticosteroides, dapsone, azatioprine, methotrexate, hydroxychloroquine my doctors gave me Xolair (
omalizumab
). After six shots a felt better then ever. Now they won't give me any more. The reason given is little research and scientific evidence.

Omalizumab and asthma worsening
Hi I've been on xolair 2 years 4 injections every 2 weeks. For several weeks I've had worsening of my asthma symtoms which they class as unstable and the respiratory nurse who gives my injections in the hospital doesn't seem to agree. I have never coughed and it's keeping me awake, blood tests normal

Xolair
(For those who might not know, Xolair - or
Omalizumab
- is an IgE inhibitor. It acts on the immune system in people with severe allergic asthma to suppress the immune system's wild over-reactions to allergens before they can begin.

Biological drugs
Is there anyone on Etanercept for RA and
Omalizumab
for asthma? I have been on Etanercept for about 8 years, but have had uncontrollable asthma for the last 2 years. I am on every drug the hospital can prescribe so am possibly going to start
Omalizumab
in the new year.

has anyone been put on Xolair (Omalizumab) injections for allergic asthma? I came across it the other day and was thinking of asking the GP
Do you think it is a good idea? I am never sure what to ask my GP as I dont want her to think I am being hypochondriac at all. I feel like I am always going and saying I feel dreadful and she thinks I am saying I am worse than I am - but actually I am feeling dreadful. I am taking my partner this
