Mmm, smarties :S
She agreed that I needed to be back on the
Omalizumab
and that my lungs were being stroppy at the mo, but said there's nothing that can be done without funding.

Omalizumab
- I can't even pronounce that...), are very outdated in their approach, there's no patient involvement (to the extent they were shocked at me doing my own peak flow diary...), everything is at a totally

How long to get a consultant?
I moved from London to the middle of nowhere at the beginning of January and my old consultant and GP were really good in contacting people with the aim of a smooth/swift transfer of care, especially as I'm on
Omalizumab
.

chronic asthma methotrexate
We have been trying for
omalizumab
(Xolair) but now his IgE is out of range, so there is no joy there. He is not responding to IV Amonophollin,Steroids no longer work, nor his Terbutaline sub-cut. and consultants are suggesting Methotrexate.

Xolair article - Daily Mail
For them
Omalizumab
, a new drug marketed in the UK as Xolair, offers hope. Trials show it to be effective in those who are often hospitalised with severe attacks. However, young asthma-sufferers in England and Wales may be denied the drug because it is not deemed cost-effective.

Subcut Ventolin
Prophylatic antibs not possible as no infection to fight, methotrexate not allowed,
omalizumab
not allowed due to too few hospital admissions (I pride myself in this, they don't get it).

Omalizumab (Xolair) trial
Hi all I have recently been approached about taking part in the Xolair trial for non-allergic asthma, as my asthma is still uncontrolled despite all the meds. I think this is an amazing opportunity for me, but I have loads of questions buzzing around in my head and just wanted to hear your opinions

Omalizumab/Xolair
I'm being started on
Omalizumab
/Xoliar this week. I've found lots of useful info/experience searching the previous threads about this, but I have just one question. How much does it actually hurt? Can you compare it to something so I know what to expect? Is it like a blood test? Like an ABG?

Adrenal Function - Help me understand please
Things are finally getting better with the
Omalizumab
so I've been weaning the Pred. Got down to 5mg from 40mg, my consultant wanted me to have a Synacthen test to check everything was okay to come off the Pred, but made out it was just a formality.

xolair should be widely available to anyone who is eligable for it !!!!
I felt that nothing would work for me but then i was told about a clinical trial involving a new drug called xolair (
omalizumab
). I jumped at the chance. The results were amazing I can live my life now i am now completely off prednisolone and have never had to use my salbutamol inhalers.
